In your own words define constipation and name the risk factors that might lead to develop constipation. List recommendations you would give to a patient who is suffering from constipation. You might use a previous experience you might have.

Constipation is an alteration in bowel pattern leading to the inability to defecate. Some of the risk factors that can lead to constipation include, lack of physical activity, frequent use of laxatives, a low fiber diet, inadequate fluid intake, older age, certain medication use (narcotics, sedatives, antidepressants, antihypertensives) and mental health and neurologic disorders. Some of the recommendations for a patient suffering from constipation include lifestyle modifications such as increasing fluid intake, increasing dietary fiber into their dietary fiber supplements, increasing physical activity, restraining the use of laxatives, not ignoring the initial urge to defecate, avoid consumption of processed sugar, red meat and white flour. In addition, I have found that training your bowel to specific times and familiar settings have worked for patients in the past, creating a routine will help in having regular bowel movements and prevent constipation.

Based on the clinical manifestations on R.H. case study, name and explain signs and symptoms presented that are compatible with the constipation diagnosis. Complement your list with signs and symptoms not present on the case study.

On R.H. case study, the signs and symptoms presented that are compatible with the diagnosis of constipation include, recent changes to her bowel movements to sometimes once weekly, straining and taking over 10 minutes to have bowel movement, having extremely hard stools, decreased in physical activity, and the use of naproxen and aluminum hydroxide tablets. Additionally, other signs and symptoms include painful bowel movements, no bowel movement for longer than 3 days, hypoactive bowel sounds, hemorrhoids, fistulas, anal tear, intestinal obstruction, impaction, diverticulitis and electrolyte imbalance.

Sometimes as an associate diagnosis and a complication, patients with constipation could have anemia. Would you consider that possibility based on the information provided on the case study?

As an associate diagnosis and a complication of constipation patients can develop anemia; however, in R.H. case there isn’t sufficient information that would lead to think this could be the case. Based on the colonoscopy the patient had there were no lesions, additionally the constipation is acute, and the patient has only been experiencing the symptoms for about a month. If the constipation worsens for R.H. she may develop anal tears, hemorrhoids and lesions which can then cause bleeding to a degree sufficient to lead to iron-deficiency anemia.

                                                                              Case Study 2

In which race and ethnic groups is DM more prevalent? Based on C.B. clinical manifestations, please compile the signs and symptoms that she is exhibiting that are compatible with the Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 diagnosis.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is more prevalent among African Americans, Hispanic/Latino Americans, American Indians or Alaska Native (CDC, 2020). Based on C.B. clinical manifestations the signs and symptoms that she is exhibiting that are compatible with the diabetes mellitus type 2 diagnosis include obesity, increased thirst and urination, weakness and numbness to her left foot, elevated fasting blood glucose and elevated cholesterol, as well as the frequent “female infections” reported.

If C.B. develop a bacterial pneumonia on her right lower lobe, how would you expect her Glycemia values to be? Explain and support your answer.

If C.B develops bacterial pneumonia on her right lower lobe she would be expected to have elevated glycemic values. Infection causes a stress response in the body which lead to an increase of cortisol and adrenaline. These hormones counteract the action of insulin, which then leads the body to increase glucose production causing high blood sugar levels. When blood sugar levels are elevated, the white blood cells (WBC) are not able to wipe off the bacteria because they cannot reach the infection site quickly to surround and destroy the bacteria. In people who do not have diabetes the extra insulin is produced to counter these effects.

What would be the best initial therapy non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic to be recommended to C.B?

The best initial non-pharmacologic therapy for C.B. include dietary changes and exercise, weight loss and glucose self-monitoring. In addition, some pharmacological initial therapy for C.B. include oral or noninsulin injectable hyperglycemia medications like sulfonylureas, amylin mimetics and biguanides among others. Also, in C.B case HMG CoA reductase inhibitors work by lowering her cholesterol thus providing a good initial therapy for diabetes.

Theories of the 1980’s and 1990’s.

Create a PowerPoint presentation that addresses each of the following points/questions. Be sure to completely answer all the questions for each bullet point. Use clear headings that allow your professor to know which bullet you are addressing on the slides in your presentation. Support your content with at least two (2) sources and the textbook using APA citations throughout your presentation. Make sure to cite the sources using the APA writing style for the presentation. Include a slide for your references at the end. Follow best practices for PowerPoint presentations related to text size, color, images, effects, wordiness, and multimedia enhancements. Review the Signature Assignment rubric criteria for this assignment.

This week, you will develop a PowerPoint presentation reviewing the theories from each module. Please select one theory from each module (1-8) and answer the following questions. You should have 2-4 slides per theory with a total of 8 theories discussed.

  • Describe the theory
  • Provide 3 examples of how the theory applies to current practice
  • Provide 3 positive patient outcomes resulting from utilizing the theory
  • Explain 3 benefits to nursing satisfaction when utilizing the theory
  • Describe two barriers to using the theory in practice and at least one method for overcoming each barrier (support methods with sources)
  • Support from literature clearly noted throughout

The PowerPoint presentation should include at least two outside references and the textbook. The presentation should contain 2 to 4 slides per theory, for a total of 16 to 32 slides.

Worst brand extensions – Colgate Lasagna

The above is an example of the ugliest brand extension on the market. There are different reasons for this statement. To make the brand extension successful, it must reflect the strength of the parent company, maintain the customer experience, and withdraw satisfactory ideas from customers and increase customer loyalty. There must be a connection between the brand and the upcoming new product. This is not the case with Colgate Lasagna. Colgate is a household name in oral hygiene, and then turning to food means that there is a lack of connection between the company and the product. Customers could not easily identify the beef product and associate it with Colgate. Colgate’s loyal customers had to have a second though and a deeper investigation to discover that the product is from Colgate (Francesco, 2020).

Second, due to quality factors, the expansion fails, which is very important for successful expansion. Many organizations use brand extensions and are successful because the current customers link the quality of the new product to that of other products that they have used before. In the case of Colgate Lasagna, customers could not easily trust its quality because it is not in line with the products that it is famous for and it is also in a different category. This mismatch makes potential customers and current customers doubt its quality.

Customer experience is also another factor lacking in the brand’s expansion, and it is also the reason for its failure. Customers did not have any experience with food products from Colgate since it produces oral hygiene products. Lack of experience means that customers cannot believe it, so the market support rate is very low. Low market support means low purchase volume, so it will eventually fail. Colgate Lasagna therefore failed because it was from a different category from what it is known for by the customers (Francesco, 2020).

Marketing techniques used by organizations have been changing regarding changes occurring in the business operating environment. one of the emerging marketing practices in the contemporary business environment is corporate social responsibility (CSR). The marketing tool has proved to be effective in increasing sales within businesses through the enhanced public image. It enhances customer loyalty, leading to business sustainability (List & Momeni (2021).

When carrying out business research, high ethical standards must be observed, especially where human subjects are involved. The targeted audience must be educated, informed about the importance of the study, the usage of the research results, informed about any potential negative impacts, and their consent to participate sought appropriately. Participation should be free and voluntary, and the respondents can quit whenever they wish. Privacy and confidentiality of the shared information must be highly guaranteed (Jamrozik & Selgelid, 2021). firms have to carry out adequate market research from time to time to ensure that they are up to date with the prevailing changes within the operating environment.

Collaboration is crucial towards business success, mainly characterized by growth, development and sustainability, numerous stakeholders are involved in the business operations, and therefore, their varying views should be highly considered. It is the ultimate responsibility of any manager or organizational leader to ensure that the firms have been managed effectively. The managerial skills required for businesses increases as organizations go international. Managing multinational corporations demand practical leadership skills to minimize the possibility of business failure. The leaders should understand various international organizations like the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Group of Eight (G8) for optimal performance.

Course Design Outline

Course Design Outline

Course design is guided by curriculum outcomes, and courses must be developed to ensure that students are meeting the intended outcomes. Curriculum development and course design are influenced by many factors, such as program level and setting. The course design process begins with broad program or organizational outcomes and narrows to specific objectives to guide instruction. The purpose of this assignment is to develop a course design outline for one setting, using one health care practice. You will choose a health care practice for this assignment and build upon it throughout the course in order to achieve an understanding of the curriculum development process.

Health Care Practice

Choose a health care practice and write an explanation of the practice that includes the following:

  1. Summarize the health care practice you have selected.
  2. Locate three evidence-based articles that support your health care practice choice.  Evidence-based articles chosen should not be older than 5 years.
  3. Provide a rationale for each article you selected, including an explanation of how the article supports your health care practice choice.
  4. Choose two different settings and explain how course design would be different for these settings.

Course Design Outline

Use your health care practice to create a course design outline based on evidence-based practice for one of your selected settings according to the suggested course design process provided in the Teaching in Nursing: A Guide for Faculty textbook.

General Guidelines

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are not required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite.

Submit the health care practice explanation and course design outline as one Word document.

NEED BY 7PM TODAY 4 (Discussion post for a human resources class)

Respond to each prompt then respond to a peer. Each response should be 200 words followed by a 200 word response to a peer. APA formant. Use at least 1 reference for each response. The last two are just peer responses.

Click on the Period 4: Dialogue link above, find your group, and write two posts to the following topic:

Assignment 1:

4A – The assigned reading for this period is eclectic covering labor relations, discipline, and safety. For this period’s forum post to the group an initial message that presents the reasons, in your supported opinion, why businesses ended up with labor relations and union problems and safety concerns. This is not meant to ‘just’ point the finger at business but look back over the course of history and ask yourself what led to the problems. Then think about how a Biblical worldview might have changed, or not changed, the attitudes and principles at work and would the business workplace be different today if we developed the business understanding on scripture.  Post one reply to one other student either adding to his/her thoughts or politely challenging his/her thoughts by Sunday of the first week. Please use academic references and APA formatting.

Peer answer that needs a response

Labor relations is defined as “the continuous relationship between a defined group of employees and management (Ivancevich & Konopaske, 2013). Its purpose is to ensure that management is considering fair compensation and good working conditions for their employees. The importance of unions grew during the Civil War due to the increase in industrial expansion. It resulted in “huge industrial monopolies” (Ivancevich & Konopaske, 2013). During this time, “employment conditions included long work hours, unsafe working conditions, low wages, and high employment” (Ivancevich & Konopaske, 2013). The formation of unions was highly opposed by employers when the idea was first proposed. However, over time, unions were successfully created to help address employee issues. Before the creation of unions, employees were able to dictate employee wages and were able to reduce wages if they desired. The first unions were organized to defend “trades against diluted and cheap labor and, increasingly, demanding a shorter workday in the face of the Industrial Revolution” (History.com Editors, 2009). Unions were not only established to enhance work life and employee’s compensation. Its early purpose was to promote social equality which was derived from the “ideals of the American Revolution” (History.com Editors, 2009).

4B – Using the content from chapter 17 of the text, please explain what the sources of stress for employees are and what HRM managers can do to reduce stress in the workplace by Thursday.    Post one reply to one other student either adding to his/her thoughts or politely challenging his/her thoughts by Sunday of the first week. Please use academic references and APA formatting.

Peer answer that needs response

According to Ryba (2019), “Studies estimate that stress costs U.S. businesses an estimated $300 billion annually, and the workplace has been identified as the number one source of stress for American workers.” Unfortunately, job related stress can lead to many harmful diseases such as coronary heart disease, hypertension and depression. This is due to stress directly affecting people’s endocrine system, cardiovascular system, muscular system and emotions (Ivancevich & Konopaske, 2012, p. 542).

Ryba (2019) mentions that one way to reduce stress in the workplace is to work to cultivate and encourage wellness within the company. This could include bringing in a yoga teacher for employees to take a class together or offering healthier snacks to employees. At my company, a lot of us go on walks around the building during our fifteen minute breaks. It is refreshing and helps me reset to go back into work feeling more renewed. Some other ideas that HRM managers can implement to help minimize employee stress level are providing onsite counseling, providing recognition to employees when they are doing a good job and creating quiet time as a nice break (Ryba, 2019).

PART TWO. The prompt is below. For this, you do not have to do an initial response. Only a response to the peer.

Week 2A:  The assigned reading is about planning and preparing. Consider that you are VP-HRM for a large firm operating in the US or overseas or both. The board has asked you to prepare a 10-15 year HR plan accommodating trends in demographics of generations, immigrations, training/education levels of employees worldwide, economic, technical, political, etc. By Thursday of Week 1 of Period 2, post an initial 200-word message of substance stating what business and countries you are in (real or fictitious) to help the group with your thoughts and show the trends for two of the categories you have found and the strategies you recommend. An example of a trend might be something like:

EXAMPLE of one trend: “My organization is in healthcare in Venezuela and Brazil. The organization is in an unstable market, making our ten year plan very uncertain. We sensed a change in the market, after the inauguration of the new administration in 2013. In reaction, we created a ten year strategic human resource forecast to analyze our presence in Venezuela. President Nicolas Maduro controls the economy and is unwilling to contribute to federal health care spending (Central Intelligence Agency, 2017). Currently, our hospitals are also unsustainable because of a lack of properly trained workforce and lack of medical supplies. The once flourishing talent pool has fled to other Latin countries because of the turmoil. I will regretfully have to recommend to the board that we consider downsizing our facilities in Venezuela.”

Post a 200-word reply to one other student either adding to his/her thoughts or politely challenging his/her thoughts by Sunday. Please use academic references and APA Format.

Week 2B – Present three major provisions of the Civil Rights Act of 1991 and give an example from published news reports by Thursday of Week 2/Period 2. Post a 200-word reply to one other student either adding to his/her thoughts or politely challenging his/her thoughts by Sunday.  Please use academic references and APA Format.

NEEDS 200 WORD RESPONSE

The civil rights act of 1991 went into law on November 21st that year. The civil rights acts of 1991 amended the previous civil rights act of 1964 in a few different ways. First, it expanded discrimination to include color, sex, race, religion, or creed. Second, it expanded the rights and injury compensation for employees to sue an employer London, 1991). One last example would be that it made it much harder for employers to fight against disparate impact discrimination in court (Alito, 1991). These amendments added more strength to the legislation already in place and expanded protections and civil rights for employees. Now for example, an employee who is suing for punitive and compensatory damages is entitled to a jury trial rather than a judge’s decision. (Alito, 1992). This was a big change as juries are seen as more sympathetic to employee cases of injury or discrimination than judges are. The civil rights act of 1991 was not retroactive and so cases at that time were not able to be covered under these new amendments which proved to be a difficult situation for civil rights activists to navigate as was ruled by the supreme court (London, 1991).

NEEDS 200 WORD RESPONSE

I currently work at Pizza Inn. Pizza Inn is an American restaurant chain and an international food franchise (About Us, 2018). During the height of the pandemic, the pizza industry thrived (Albert, 2021). While other restaurants and food chains saw a 19 percent decrease in business, the pizza industry only saw a .2 percent decrease in their business (Albert, 2021). The pizza industry has done well because pizza is seen as a comfort food (Coley, 2020). Pizza places have also done well because most deliver, have takeout, or can pick up quickly. With the pandemic, these options made going to a pizza restaurant became even more desirable (Coley, 2020). With restrictions lifting slightly with Covid-19, pizza places are somewhat losing business, and as the restrictions are lifted, more and more business will more than likely decrease as people will want to eat elsewhere (Albert, 2021).

Over the next 10-15 years, pizza will still be a popular food item. To increase business, restaurants are coming out with online ordering and staying on top of trends to remain relevant (Albert, 2021). Staying on top of popular trends and offering things such as Doordash or Uber Eats is an excellent way to ensure that pizza stays relevant. As long as pizza is around, customers will always be willing to purchase this fantastic comfort food.

Each response writing should provide the following—

1)   An Honest Response to the Writing—Write a few sentences about how the work made you feel (ex. “Angry because… “Or “joyful because…” or “confused because…” There is no right or wrong answer here. These few sentences should be honest and capture your initial response to the piece of writing.

2)   A Summary of What You Read—Summarize what happened in the writing. Who were the characters? What happens in the story or poem? What is the story about?

3)   An Analysis or Close Reading—This is the part of the response writing that really begins our critical thinking. Does something appear symbolic?  Are there any metaphors and similes that expand meaning? Does there appear to be a common theme? What details seem relevant? You will not find every literary device in every reading. In this section of the response writing, you should begin to decide what seems to have meaning or purpose? Be sure to pay attention to the form, the title, the content and the rhythm.

4)  An Interpretation—This is the part of the response writing that will allow you to pull the “clues” together and offer a statement on what you think the story is really about? You will combine your summary and analysis to provide an argument about the text.

5)   Drawing Conclusions—This part of the response writing will require that you incorporating the above process and integrating some direct quotes from the actual work of study to support your findings and interpretations.

When an “Individual Response Writing” is DUE, you will choose ONE of the readings from the “Selected Reading” document for that week or section and complete the requirements above. Type your response directly in the forum and make sure to cover all categories. Your response should be in paragraph format and aim for a minimum of 200/250 words.

Required reading:

 T.S. Eliot, “The Waste Land”

written assignment of an article

The individual written assignments will be relatively short assignments (between 500 and 750 words).  The assignments  will  be  addressed  to  teach  participants  to  convey  concepts  from  cognitive  psychology, neuroscience, and related fields to a broad audience; that is, convey very technical information and making it accessible  to  readers  with  limited  background  in  the  research  area  that  is  being  discussed,  while  also representing the scientific content in a precise and responsible way.A group of neuroscience, biopsychology, and related articles (available in the “Files” section of the Canvas website for the course) will be posted for using in these assignments. Chose the respective article for each assignment; after reading the article, your work is to elaborate a brief description of the article for a general audience, specifically, an audience with reduced knowledge about neuroscience, biopsychology or related fields. The description should cover some background on the field of research selected, information about the scientific methods that are used, and a discussion of the principal research findings and implications. As a general rule, it should be avoided the use of scientific jargon and other terms that might confuse a general audience. Moreover, it should be avoided to misrepresent or overstate the findings of the article; also, the writing style should be interesting for a general audience.  The written assignment should be between 500 and  750 words.

Each written assignment should be divided in four sections with the next subtitles: – Introduction or background, Methods or Methodology, Results or Findings,  Conclusions or Implications.

I will upload the article and also a sample of a written assignment so you have a clear idea how it has to be done.

due in 8 1/2 hours i have a fully done paper. the only things needed to be changed are the sample and the sources last person i hired accepted and never responded

im adding a fully done just topic and sources need to be changed

DEVELOPING A RESEARCH TOPIC FOR QUALITATIVE STUDIES
    Overview
This is the first of four assignments that will help you prepare for writing qualitative research proposals. In the fourth and final assignment in Week 10, you will write a paper with content that would be in a research proposal. For this first assignment, you will develop a research topic that is appropriate for a qualitative research study. You will use the same subject and research topic in the later assignments in the course. Choose from one of the following subjects to develop the research topic for this assignment:

    • Media bias.
    • Intelligence tests.
    • Employee rights.
    • Medicaid, Medicare reform.
    • Literacy in the United States.
    • Digital age influence.
    • Instructions
Write a paper that reflects your research topic. Use the Week 4 Assignment Template [DOCX] to structure your paper.
    • Write one paragraph that describes your topic.
    • Write one paragraph that communicates the background of your topic, including the relevant research surrounding this topic. This paragraph will provide the context of this topic.
    • Write one paragraph that describes the rationale for investigating the topic and why this topic is appropriate for qualitative research.
    • Write a research question based on this topic that is aligned with each of the five methodological approaches using the research question examples provided this week as a guide. (In other words, write five research questions and indicate which methodology each question represents.) The five methodological approaches are:
      • Ethnography.
      • Case study.
      • Grounded theory.
      • Phenomenology.
      • Generic qualitative inquiry.
    • Explain how the characteristics of each of the five methodological approaches align with its associated research question.
    • Support your assignment with appropriate academic sources and include both citations and references in current APA format. Use 3–5 scholarly resources published with the past three years by recognized academic sources.
    • Requirements
Your assignment should also meet the following requirements:
    • Written communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
    • Length of paper: Meets the structure provided in the assignment instructions.
    • Resources: 3–5 scholarly resources. Include a reference page at the end of the paper.
    • APA guidelines: Double-spaced paragraph formatting in the body of the paper. When appropriate, use APA-formatted headings. Resources and citations are formatted according to current APA style and format. See Evidence and APA for more information on APA style and format.
    • Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.

The price elasticity of demand is a measure of how responsive consumers are to changes in in the price of a product.  It is calculated as the percentage change in quantity demanded divided by the percentage change in the price of the product. If consumers are relatively sensitive to changes in the price, then percentage change in the quantity demand will be greater than the percentage change in the price of the product. This means that the absolute value of the price elasticity of demand will be greater than 1, and this is called relatively elastic demand. If consumers are relatively insensitive to changes in the price then the percentage change in the quantity demanded will be less than the percentage change in the price of the product. This means that the absolute value of the price elasticity of demand will be less than 1, and this is called relatively elastic demand. If the percentage change in the quantity demanded is exactly equal to the percentage change in the price of the product, then absolute value of the price elasticity of demand is equal to 1 and this is called unit elastic demand.

Perfectly elastic demand refers to a situation where consumers are completely sensitive to the price, which means that an increase in the price will cause the quantity demanded to fall to zero. This is represented by a horizontal demand curve, and it implies a price elasticity of demand equal to infinity. Perfectly inelastic demand refers to a situation where consumers are completely insensitive to the price, which means that an increase in the price will not change the quantity demanded at all. This is represented by a vertical demand curve, and it implies a price elasticity of demand equal to zero.

In my opinion, the demand for auto parts is likely to be relatively elastic. This means that the percentage change in the quantity demanded is likely to be greater than the percentage change in the price. The reason I suspect this is because there are many different producers of auto parts, which means that there are many different substitutes for the parts made by AutoEdge, and this would tend to make demand relatively elastic. A second reason why I think that the demand for auto parts would be relatively elastic is that auto parts can be expensive, and higher prices products tend to have more elastic demand than lower priced products, all else equal.

What Happens if AutoEdge Raises Prices and Relocates to the US?

Elasticity is a vital model in economics. It’s used to quantify how responsive demand and/or supply is in reaction to other changes in inconstant, which in our case would be price. One of the first questions that Ingrid posed was, “would consumer demand be affected by AutoEdge’s decision to raise prices and to move operations back to the United States?” Price elasticity of demand (PED) computes the reaction of demand after an adjustment in price (Pettinger, 2016).

If price elasticity of demand results being greater than 1, than the demand is considered to be price elastic. This means that an adjustment in price is commanding a larger percentage change in demand. On the other hand, in would be considered inelastic if an adjustment in prices produced a smaller percentage and a decrease in demand. If we know what our PED is, it will help to guide us in the right direction as to if we are going in the right direction of increasing our prices. If demand is elastic, profits are produced by reducing prices, but if the demand is inelastic it is gained by lowering prices (Economics Online, n.d.).

Based on my opinion I believe that the elasticity for auto parts is considered to be relatively elastic. What this means is the percentage change in the quantity demanded of a product is greater than percentage change in its price (Nitisha, n.d.). Generally, in this case consumers will decide to move over to a new brand when they see price increases, but some consumers that are loyal to the brand stay regardless of the increase in price. We have several competitors out there currently that offer cheaper pricing but not the same quality in which we offer our consumers.

It is my belief that the auto parts industry is elastic and because of this it is not recommended to increase prices because it will not be increasing revenue. If anything, I believe that by raising prices there is the potential to see significant losses in revenues altogether. However, there are still alternatives that can be done to reach such objectives. Ingrid mentioned the possibility of relocating the manufacturing operations back to the United States. If this is a decision that has already been decided on I would advise that AutoEdge use this exciting news as a marketing and advertising tool to help increase the awareness of the brand. By spending the capital to increase the brand loyalty it helps to make the demand more inelastic, while helping to generate more revenue.
