WEEK 3 CCG TEMPLATE

Introduction: Communication Change Challenge (CCC)
This is your week to put into action what you have been learning regarding the communication challenge that you would like to change. You have put a plan in place, and now you will be implementing that plan. The goal is successful change.

Project Timeline
The following is a breakdown of what will be covered in each part of the project:

Due

Description

Week 1

Selecting a communication goal and conducting research

Week 2

Describing communication pattern, analyzing goal, and developing a plan

Week 3

Implementation of the plan and evaluation of your progress

Part 1: Beginning of the Week (1 paragraph)
For this CCC, you should have chosen a person with whom you share regular communication. So, you should have a few occasions this week to apply your plan. Under this heading for your submission, write down what you project will be your opportunities to implement your plan. You need to be on the look-out for when you will be putting your plan into place.

Part 2: Middle of the Week (1-2 paragraphs)
In this section, you will describe the setting and people involved in your exchange that was your implementation of your CCC plan. Include enough details so that the process of the exchange is understood.

Part 3: End of the Week
Under this heading, you will have the opportunity to reflect on the process that you went through for your Communication Change Challenge. Use the following sub-section headings for your responses (see template). You will evaluate the impact of the project as it relates to interpersonal communication and the course objectives (COs). It is important here that you clearly demonstrate your understanding of the course concepts through application to your course project.

Remember that your patterns for communicating interpersonally have been developed over many years. Therefore, you should be neither surprised nor discouraged to find that changing your interpersonal communication behavior takes time. In order for you to take this project to its fullest potential, you may need to continue to modify, implement, and reinforce these new behaviors for far longer than the duration of the project. It is possible, however, to modify the way you communicate because the payoff is improvement to our communication and relationship outcomes. Changing interpersonal communication for the better is worth the effort.

3A. Topic Selection Reflection (1 paragraph)
What course material did you use to help guide your particular communication change? Cite the information you found helpful as you write your paragraph summary of texts used.

3B. Implementation Analysis: Satisfaction (1 paragraph)
Consider the implementation of your new approach to communication and share which of your communication changes particularly pleased you?

3C. Implementation Analysis: Dissatisfaction (1 paragraph)
Consider the implementation of your new approach to communication and share which of your communication changes particularly displeased you.

3D. Implementation Analysis: Additional Changes (1 paragraph)
Consider the implementation of your new approach to communication and share which of your communication changes you still want to work on.

Note: For each section, be detailed and specific. You need to use several course materials from different chapters, course outcomes, videos, assessments, articles, etc. Your course project evaluation will be graded for comprehensive content, analysis evaluation, application of the course material, organization, and so forth. Please consider its weight when you place value on its importance to your final course grade.

Benchmark – Financial Analysis on IKEA

Refer to Tables A-1 through A-5 in Appendix II  I have attached them of the text for the  operational definitions of and formulas for numerous common financial  ratios, including profitability, liquidity, leverage, activity, and  shareholders’ return. Using these formulas, complete at least one ratio  from each of the five categories, though you may apply as many of the  ratios for which you can find the required information in the firm’s  financial reports. On your calculations page, specify for which formulas  you are solving.

In an assessment of approximately 750 words, address the following:

  1. Determine  which of the ratios provide the most key insights into the firm’s  current level of performance. How can you assess whether the results of  your calculations are positive or negative? Explain which of the ratios  give you reason to be concerned with the organization’s current strategy  and why.
  2. The Organizational and Operational Plans assignment  references the possible benefits and risks of forming a strategic  alliance. What would be the risks of forming a strategic alliance in  terms of the firm’s profitability ratios? Which of those five ratios is  most likely to reveal immediate information for analysis of the  alliance’s effectiveness?
  3. Considering today’s financial climate,  how likely is it that the organization could acquire the capital  necessary to support an aggressive value-enhancement strategy? From  where would that capital originate? Compared to current interest rates,  what do you believe is a realistic interest rate the firm might incur?  Which of the liquidity ratios will be impacted by the influx of capital,  if borrowed?

Submit your calculations with your written response.

writing for media

You are to create 8-10 pages from your project. This should be based and reflective of all instructor feedback and relate to your scenogram and treatment. It must be in the proper format and free of grammatical error. The 8-10 pages must be consecutive. However, they may come from any section of the script (Act 1,2 or 3)

You should also record a 2-3 minute presentation that you can share with the class on YouTube via an email link or post somewhere else that allows us to see your video. If you and your partner(s) are not in the same location you can work jointly to record the presentation and use simple editing tools, etc. The goal would be to convince us to invest and produce your film. This should be a rehearsed presentation and fall within the prescribed time frame. In essence, how can you creatively present your script including sections of dialogue so that everyone wants to invest in its production and go to see the film when it opens. Some students have created sample trailers or posters. It is important to be creative and persuasive as well as share the script. Simply reading your treatment or the script the entire time would NOT meet this requirement.

Assignment 2: Process Recordings

A process recording is a written tool used by field education experience students, field instructors, and faculty to examine the dynamics of social work interactions in time. Process recordings can help in developing and refining interviewing and intervention skills. By conceptualizing and organizing ongoing activities with social work clients, you are able to clarify the purpose of interviews and interventions, identify personal and professional strengths and weaknesses, and improve self-awareness. The process recording is also a useful tool in exploring the interpersonal dynamics and values operating between you and the client system through an analysis of filtering the process used in recording a session.

For this Assignment, you will submit a process recording of your field education experiences specific to this week.

Note: You are submitting a written transcript, not an audio or video recording.

The Assignment (2–4 pages):

  • Provide a transcript of what happened during your field education experience, including a dialogue of interaction with a client.
  • Explain your interpretation of what occurred in the dialogue, including social work practice theories, and explain how it might relate to diversity or cultural competence covered this week.
  • Describe your reactions and/or any issues related to your interaction with a client during your field education experience.
  • Explain how you applied social work practice skills when performing the activities during your process recording.

Business and The Merchant of Venice

Though Antonio and Shylock don’t have much in common at first glance, both men are the only two characters in the play who have jobs and the financial know-how that comes with them. Antonio is a merchant and Shylock is a moneylender who makes loans for interest. Though Antonio eventually is saved and restored financially, it could be argued that both men lose what is most important to them by the end of the play and that their true values are revealed by what could be considered risky investments. Shylock asks for a pound of flesh as a bond (instead of money or other valuable collateral) and Antonio makes the ill-advised decision to accept Shylock’s offer. Later, Shylock refuses money and insists on his “bond” (the pound of flesh). How do these two decisions tell us something about what both men value beyond money itself? It might also be helpful to think about Shylock’s punishment—is it the loss of his wealth or the forced loss of his religion that leaves him so wretched? Similarly, Antonio ends up more wealthy at the end of the play, but has he lost what means the most to him (see the previous topic)? Why does he seem so alone in the play’s final scene?

In a paper of a minimum of 1000 words (about 4 pages, double-spaced, 12 point font), respond to one of the following prompts. Do not waste time with a general introduction, instead start by introducing your topic and your main focus, then move to your argument or main idea. For example, you could say something like this: “In this paper I will discuss how Shakespeare’s Portia is a model of integrity in The Merchant of Venice. In a play where Venetian noblemen are motivated by money, even in their choice of brides, Portia shows the importance of loyalty and honesty in her relationship with Bassanio, thus teaching him an important lesson.”  Respond to the prompt in a series of paragraphs focusing on details from speeches which are significant for the points you want to make. Be sure to use short quotations in each of your paragraphs (except your introduction) to support your points (2-4 lines is probably enough in most cases).  In a paper of this length, long quotations are not a good idea. An explanation of how to quote is below. Remember, 1000 words is a minimum word requirement. You are encouraged to write more if you feel you have more to say than can fit in 4 pages.

Homework, Essay

Analyze what the author reveals about the subject of racism in ‘A Raisin in the Sun’?

  • Your paper must be 3 full pages, composed in third person point of view.
  • Paper must be composed in 12 point font Times New Roman, Micrsosoft Word
  • (No I, me, my, mine, we, us our, you, your).
  • Paper must contain a well-developed paragraphs. A quote or paraphrase must be incorporated into each body paragraph. Do not forget to add your intext citation. Failure to do so results in plagiarism and automatic failure of the assignment.
  • Refrain from using long quotes. Each body paragraph must begin with a topic sentence that provides an overview of the information that will be discussed in that section.
  • A topic sentence can not be a question or quote. Do not end paragraphs with quotes or questions.
  • Make sure you incorporate transitions to unify your body paragraphs
  • You must incorporate an additional outside source to support your message in your page. This requires research. Research your topic, play, issue to find information that would be beneficial in your paper.
  • Do not forget your Works Cited page. You will have two sources on the Works Cited page. (A Raisin in the Sun and the source you located).

Discussion 3:Accommodating Social Identities in the Workplace

In the United States, federal and state laws protect many individuals in the workplace from discrimination. However, not all identities are protected under the law. In addition, corporations oftentimes have a particular culture and/or brand that they are selling, and not all social identities are able to portray this image in the same way.

In this discussion, you will consider whether accommodations should be made in the workplace for a variety of social identities by considering the case study of a popular clothing company, Abercrombie & Fitch. In recent years, Abercrombie & Fitch has been in the news due to multiple lawsuits filed by employees over discrimination in the workplace.

First, begin by reviewing the following resources that describe several lawsuits brought against the company:

Using the resources above as evidence to back up your ideas, address the following:

  • Each corporation has its own identity, culture, and brand that it is selling. What problems occur when someone who does not fit the ideal representation of that corporation seeks employment?  In other words, do you think that a corporation should be able to have a certain style or “look” that it wants to represent their brand, and therefore hire employees who adequately represent this?
  • Do you agree with the way that the courts ruled in the cases you reviewed? Why/why not?
  • Finally, watch Abercrombie and Fitch Under Fire ‘Exclusionary’ Tactics (Links to an external site.) and discuss whether or not you feel that it is discriminatory for companies to exclude certain groups from their merchandise (i.e., not sell products to certain customers). Be sure to use examples from the resources to back up your argument.

Your initial post should be at least 500 words in length. Support your claims with examples from the required material(s) and/or scholarly resources, and properly cite any references both in text (Links to an external site.) and in a references list (Links to an external site.) at the end of the post.

Educational Program on Risk Management

The purpose of this assignment is to create an educational program that supports the implementation of risk management strategies in a health care organization.

In this assignment, you will develop an outline for an “in‐service”‐style educational risk management program for employees of a particular health care organization that will then form the basis for a PowerPoint presentation in Topic 5. Select your topic for this educational session from one of the proposed recommendations or changes you suggested in the Risk Management Program Analysis – Part One assignment to enhance, improve, or secure compliance standards in your chosen risk management plan example.

Create a 500‐750-word comprehensive outline that communicates the following about your chosen topic:

  1. Introduction: Identify the risk management topic you have chosen to address and why it is important within your health care sector.
  2. Rationale: Illustrate how this risk management strategy is lacking within your selected organization’s current risk management plan and explain how its implementation will better meet local, state, and federal compliance standards.
  3. Support: Provide data that indicate the need for this proposed risk management initiative and demonstrate how it falls under the organization’s legal responsibility to provide a safe health care facility and work environment.
  4. Implementation: Describe the steps to implement the proposed strategy in your selected health care organization.
  5. Challenges: Predict obstacles the health care organization may face in executing this risk management strategy and propose solutions to navigate or preempt these potentially difficult outcomes.
  6. Evaluation: Outline your plan to evaluate the success of the proposed risk management program and how well it meets the organization’s short-term, long-term, and end goals.
  7. Opportunities: Recommend additional risk management improvements in adjacent areas of influence that the organization could or should address moving forward.

You are required to incorporate all instructor feedback from this assignment into Educational Program on Risk Management Part Two ‐ Slide Presentation assignment in Topic 5. To save time later in the course, consider addressing any feedback soon after this assignment has been graded and returned to you. It may be helpful to preview the requirements for the Topic 5 assignment to ensure that your outline addresses all required elements for submission of the final presentation.

You are required to support your statements with a minimum of six citations from appropriate credible sources.
