PROJECT PROPOSAL: EXECUTION, CONTROL, AND CLOSURE

Project Proposal: Execution, Control, and Closure

Note: This is the third of three assignments which, as a whole, cover all aspects of the project life cycle relevant to your selected project.

Now, it is time for you to discuss your project’s challenges (e.g., risks), performance management plan (e.g., earned value management), and proposed plan for closing the project when it is done.

Write a 4–6 page paper in which you define the execution, control, and closure aspects of your chosen project. In your paper you must:

  1. Provide a brief summary of your chosen project.
  2. Examine your project’s greatest challenges (at least three) and provide a recommendation for addressing each of the challenges.
  3. Examine how you manage your project performance via earned value management (EVM). Identify at least three key EVM metrics you will use for your project.
  4. Discuss your plan to properly close your project when it is over.
  5. Use at least three quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify as quality resources.

journal analysis 8 OT

Pick one of the following terms for your research: authority, competition, confrontation, dependency, empowerment, intergroup conflict, negotiation, organizational politics, power, or rational model.

Journal Article Summary & Discussion: Within each module, there is a list of key terms. Each student will select one of the key terms and conduct a search of Campbellsville University’s online Library resources to find 1 recent peer reviewed article (within the past 3 years) that closely relate to the concept. Your submission must include the following information in the following format:

DEFINITION: a brief definition of the key term followed by the APA reference for the term; this does not count in the word requirement. SUMMARY: Summarize the article in your own words- this should be in the 150-200-word range. Be sure to note the article’s author, note their credentials and why we should put any weight behind his/her opinions, research or findings regarding the key term.

DISCUSSION: Using 300-350 words, write a brief discussion, in your own words of how the article relates to the selected chapter Key Term. A discussion is not rehashing what was already stated in the article, but the opportunity for you to add value by sharing your experiences, thoughts and opinions. This is the mostimportant part of the assignment.

REFERENCES: All references must be listed at the bottom of the submission–in APA format. (continued) Be sure to use the headers in your submission to ensure that all aspects of the assignment are completed as required. Any form of plagiarism, including cutting and pasting, will result in zero points for the entire assignment.

Cite sources in your responses to other peers. Complete your participation for this assignment by the end of the week.

Ethics and Moral Development

Reflect upon ethical dilemmas you may have encountered in an organization you are or have been with or that is currently in the news. Also, familiarize yourself with Kohlberg’s stages of moral development.

For your initial post, address the following, supporting your perspectives with scholarly research:

  • Summarize the ethical dilemma you encountered in your organization.
  • Which of Kohlberg’s stages of moral development is represented in your example? Be sure to justify your reasoning for your choice. Do you think that one of the other theories of moral development better describes your example? Why?
  • Postulate the (hypothetical or real) best- and worst-case outcomes of this dilemma as you see them.

Unit 8 Discussions

Unit 8.1 DB: Do I conform? (PSY101 Fundamentals of Psychology)

In Asch’s study referenced above, answer the following questions:

  • How is the principle of conformity examined?
  • When and why do you think the subject in the experiment began to “second guess” himself?
  • What are some of the circumstances in the experiment which contribute to “conformity”?
  • Why do you think some participants would be more likely to conform than others?
  • There are many reasons why people conform. Were you ever in a situation where you had to conform? Why did you feel the need to conform?

Be sure to provide an APA citation for any resource used as reference in your post.

Unit 8.2 DB: My Career (PSY101 – Fundamentals of Psychology)

  • Throughout this course, you developed a knowledge base in psychology that may help you decide the direction of your future career.  Which content area(s) do you think will be most helpful to you in your future (or current) career?  How will you apply some of the knowledge you gained in this course to your career?
  • Refer to the APA website on careers in psychology to help you answer these questions.

Unit 8 DB: Ethical Concerns of Globalization (BUS340 Business Ethics)

Doing business both with and in different countries raises many ethical concerns.  We all do not see things the same way.  From what you have learned in this course, begin a discussion on ethical concerns that global organizations need to watch.  Choose two of the following concerns to discuss, incorporating material from our studies or outside sources.

  • When is a bribe merely a common business practice and when is it unethical?
  • Should companies produce goods in parts of the world where they know that human rights of workers are not a priority at all?
  • What about environmental and health standards?
  • In looking for inexpensive pricing, what temptations might there be for companies when considering working globally?

Unit 8 DB: Local Water Pollution (ENV110 – Exploring Environmental Issues)

Identify sources of water pollution in a local body of water.  If you can visit the location, please upload a picture of the body of water and/or the possible sources of contamination, or find an image online.  This could be as large as local factories polluting a local bay, or as small as road debris affecting a small stream.  Get out there and do some detective work!  Describe the Clean Water Act and how it could potentially reduce commercial water pollution.

Discussion Board: Understanding Pricing of a Stock

You may have seen how financial news outlets provide real-time financial market reporting. They often produce stock-market news feeds for traders; these news feeds include a stock chart. The stock chart may include different filters that allow you to see how the stock is performing today or has performed over one or more years.

There are many factors that will influence pricing that can’t be controlled or predicted accurately. The approaches used to value stocks (determine what the stock is truly worth) are usually theoretical. You should consider what drives stock prices and why.

For this discussion, first go to Mergent Online. Find the pricing chart under the “Company Details” tab, then click on Pricing Summary for your selected company. This is the company you have selected for your Project Two assignment. Filter the time period to one year.

In your initial post, address the following:

  • Discuss how the stock for Disney is trending. Explain why the stock is in either an uptrend or downtrend.
  • Discuss some of the factors, including environmental, sustainable, and governance (ESG) factors, that you believe have impacted the stock performance and why.
  • Convince your peers to either invest in your chosen company or to not invest in the company. Explain your reasoning.

Health IS/IT Components

The purpose of this assignment is to identify the components of HMIS and how they interface with one another.

An  effective digital health ecosystem relies on a broad spectrum of  technical, clinical, and administrative stakeholders to gather and  analyze patient data and then use that information to improve the  quality of care offered. Within the health care environment, information  systems and technology (IS/IT) are used to ensure patient privacy and  security, inform optimal decision making, and assist in operational  efficiency, which further enhances the services that clinicians,  hospitals, technology developers, researchers, and policymakers are able  to provide.

The textbook outlines five major components of health care management information systems (HMIS):

  1. Content and Data –  The data component is at the center of all heath IS/IT. Clinical,  technical, and administrative stakeholders rely on these data to make  the most well-informed decisions for enriching the delivery of their  health care services.
  2. Infrastructure –  Hardware, software, user interfaces, and other digital applications can  be used to accelerate communication and seamlessly share information  across networks.
  3. Data Analytics – Once data  have been gathered, they can be analyzed and manipulated to inform what  has happened in the past and why, as well as to assist in predicting  what will happen and how those situations can or should be handled.
  4. Network Compatibility and Communications  – The interoperability of networks and information systems used across  the health care services industry is essential as data are exchanged  across multiple platforms, even within a single organization. Challenges  arise in ensuring that the systems work well with each other and that  they are able to communicate complex health processes and treatments, as  well as specialized medical terminology.
  5. Administration and Management  – The role of this interfacing position is to assemble and coordinate  the other four components of the health IS/IT ecosystem, performing the  tasks necessary to put the goals of the health care organization into  action to serve both the users and consumers.

Choose the  component that most interests you and write a 500-750-word response  about how you envision yourself performing in that role. Include the  following points in your response:

  1. Describe the health care  setting where you see yourself working and detail the roles and  responsibilities of your position. How would your role incorporate  health IS/IT?
  2. Within your chosen health care organization, how would your position within the health IS/IT be integrated into the larger HMIS?
  3. Describe  one hypothetical challenge in your selected area of focus that could be  overcome using health information technology. How would this  technological innovation or solution improve the effectiveness of  current HMIS systems and processes?

Prepare this  assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide,  located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

Discussion Board Forum 1

(PHILOSOPHY) Topic: Androids and the Mind/Body Problem

Note: In order to complete this assignment, you need to have read the Discussion Board Forum 1 Instructions, the Star Trek episode synopsis found in the Module/Week 3 Reading & Study folder, and chapter 3 of the Hasker textbook. You also need to have viewed the video presentation “The Mind/Body Problem” and the PointeCast presentation “Proposed Solutions to the Mind/Body Problem.” If you have not done so, stop now to read and view that material.

For your thread: After reading the synopsis (or viewing the episode), write a substantive response (at least 350 words) and post it in the forum. Your thread must address the first question below. You may also address several of the other questions, but the bulk of your response must be on the first question and relating the story to chapter 3 of the Hasker textbook as well as both the video presentation “The Mind/Body Problem” and the PointeCast presentation “Proposed Solutions to the Mind/Body Problem.” Any quotes from sources must be cited and will not count towards your word count. From your reading of Hasker, and using the categories he uses, what view of the mind/body problem do you think is exhibited by Picard? By Maddox? Support your answer.Maddox lists 3 criteria for a being to be sentient: intelligence, self-awareness, and consciousness. Are these adequate? Can you think of other properties or characteristics a being needs to have in order to be considered a “person”? What might they be? Do you think that artificial intelligence to the level as it is presented in the story will someday be possible? Why or why not? Do you think Maddox is right when he claims that Picard is being “irrational and emotional” in his view of Data? Do you agree with the JAG officer’s final ruling? Why or why not? If A.I. does become possible, will we have obligations to treat machines “ethically”?
