Moreover, implementation diversity and inclusion initiatives the commitments should start from the top of an organization. Pitney Bowes throughout the history has been committed to diversity as well as the business value that it provides through understanding of the market, retaining and attracting employees, serving clients and fueling of their innovation (Euchner, J. 2019). In fact, diversity is embraced in every area of the business and level in the organization since it helps in understanding the market, connect with clients, innovation development and perhaps attracting and retaining outstanding talents in the organization. Cultural diversity in workplaces helps organization to reach goals that seemed impossible, where by the Pitney Bowes displays an organizational culture that is built on culture, creativity, and satisfaction of employees as well as encouraging of innovation. Moreover, in many market cultural intelligence in diversity has become one of the most important tools. Furthermore, Pitney Bowes sustains culture inclusion to encourage each person to develop their fullest in order for the organization to deliver their best collective to the customers or clients throughout the world as well as winning in their market.   In order to encourage diversity management, several strategies are proposed such as viewing employees as a group, being open minded and effective communication.in conclusion, it’s important for managers and leaders in any business set-up need to understand their own and employees culture that is beliefs or behaviors to evaluate how they can make an effective decision.

Realtors rely on detailed property appraisals—conducted using appraisal tools—to assign market values to houses and other properties. These values are then presented to buyers and sellers to set prices and initiate offers.

Research appraisal is not that different. The critical appraisal process utilizes formal appraisal tools to assess the results of research to determine value to the context at hand. Evidence-based practitioners often present these findings to make the case for specific courses of action.

you will use an appraisal tool to conduct a critical appraisal of published research. You will then present the results of your efforts.

To Prepare:

  • Reflect on the four peer-reviewed articles you selected      in Module 2 and the four systematic reviews (or other filtered high- level      evidence) you selected in Module 3.
  • Reflect on the four peer-reviewed articles you selected      in Module 2 and analyzed in Module 3.
  • Review and download the Critical Appraisal Tool      Worksheet Template provided in the Resources.

Part 3A: Critical Appraisal of Research

Conduct a critical appraisal of the four peer-reviewed articles you selected by completing the Evaluation Table within the Critical Appraisal Tool Worksheet Template. Choose a total of four peer- reviewed articles that you selected related to your clinical topic of interest in Module 2 and Module 3.

Note: You can choose any combination of articles from Modules 2 and 3 for your Critical Appraisal. For example, you may choose two unfiltered research articles from Module 2 and two filtered research articles (systematic reviews) from Module 3 or one article from Module 2 and three articles from Module 3. You can choose any combination of articles from the prior Module Assignments as long as both modules and types of studies are represented.

Part 3B: Critical Appraisal of Research

Based on your appraisal, in a 1-2-page critical appraisal, suggest a best practice that emerges from the research you reviewed. Briefly explain the best practice, justifying your proposal with APA citations of the research.

Needs at least 4 references, no older than 5 years.

Film Blog

The film for this unit is The Third Man. Please watch the film and post a reflection (aim for around 500 words) to our forum. (The library has a digital copy of the film. You can access the film by going to the “Welcome” page of our course and scrolling down to the “Library Reserves” section. Once there you will have access to all of the films for our course.)

You can either address the open ended the film critique prompt:

Offer a brief overview of the reading(s): What is the central philosophical issue or theme? What were the primary topics of discussion?  What interesting questions were raised?  What conclusions, if any, were reached?

A synopsis of the film: How does the film relate to the reading(s) under consideration? How did the main philosophical points or ideas manifest in the film?

An evaluation of the philosophical success of the film Did the film adequately treat the philosophical topic? Why or why not?

OR if you would rather a guided prompt, here are a couple of specific questions you can answer. You need not answer each, but please aim for an original response of around 500 words:

A. Does Holly have any special obligations to Harry because of their friendship?

B. What would Kant, Mill, or Noddings, make of the way that the film ends? Does Holly do the right thing? Why or why not?

C. Noddings argues that for the ethics of care “our obligations are limited and delimited by relation.” Does Holly have any obligation to those impacted by Harry’s dilution of the vaccine? Are those people in Holly’s caring network? Why or why not?

critical thinking assignment for HCM301-1 introduction to Accounting and Finance for Healthcare Managers

Is anyone able to help me with this assignment? It’s due as soon as possible.

RE:

Sole proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations are the three most common categories of business entities in the United States. Many health care providers organize as corporations, but many private medical practices operate as sole proprietorships or partnerships. Each organizational structure has benefits, drawbacks, structures, setup processes, and taxation implications that health care entities must consider when deciding how to structure their business.

For each scenario, consider how you would proceed as a manager of this company. Be sure to include the following details to justify your thinking:

  • Do you agree with the organizational form chosen in each of these scenarios? Why or why not?
  • Which type of organizational form would you have chosen, and why?
  • If you were consulted for advice in each scenario, what questions would you ask to help these individuals make the best decision?

Here are the three scenarios for your consideration:

  1. Sonya is considering starting a practice in which she will be the sole orthodontist. She owns a home, and her top priority is making sure that she cannot lose her home because of a lawsuit. Her brother told her not to incorporate because it would be very expensive and would lead to more regulatory scrutiny. She chooses to operate as a sole proprietorship.
  2. Bradley and Li Jing have been friends since the beginning of college. Bradley has a master’s degree in Nutrition Science, and Li Jing has a master’s degree in Exercise Therapy. They decide they should combine their skills and open their own wellness center. Upon graduation, they use a verbal agreement to enter into a limited partnership. Bradley’s girlfriend expresses that she opposes this idea because she wants to move back to her home state. Bradley tells her not to worry because it will be easy for him to sell his share of the organization if they chose to move in the future.
  3. May, Paulo, Jordan, and David have been operating their mental health center as a general partnership for almost eight years. Paulo, a psychiatrist, has discovered a revolutionary new kind of therapy that he believes will be extremely popular and effective. He wants to take on investors to help fund the expansion of the center and implement the new therapy program. The four discuss forming a corporation, but Jordan is concerned that it will increase their tax liabilities substantially. She convinces the group they should remain as a partnership.

Your paper should be two to three pages in length (not including the required title and reference pages) and conform to the APA standards. Include at least two scholarly references.

Discussion Board #12: Maus

After reading the selections from MAUS, answer the following questions. Remember to use complete sentences and be as specific as possible!

1. There is something hidden in the shadows second page’s (14) fifth panel. What is it? Why might this be significant?

2. What kinds of recurring animals do you see in the selections? What could these animals be symbolic of? Why does Spiegelman use animals instead of humans?

3. Think about Tom and Jerry or Itchy and Scratchy. How does the portrayal of cats and mice in those cartoons compare to those in Maus? Do you think this, and the cartoon format in general, is an effective way of dealing with the subject matter? Why or why not?

4. In Understanding Comics, Scott McCloud argues that a face drawn with great detail can represent only one specific person, but that a face drawn with few details—a smiley face, for instance—could be almost anyone. Describe the faces in Maus. Are they iconic (could be anyone) or particular (could only be Vladek)?

cartoon scale

5. On pages 184-185, Spiegelman shows an exchange of dialogue between him and his father. What do you make of the attitude between Vladek and Artie? Does this disrupt the narrative? Why or why not?

6. How do these pictures of Auschwitz (particularly looking at the full frame picture of its entrance) differ from the illustration in the rest of the book?

In order to receive full credit for this post you must:

  • Post your response to all questions. Your answers should be specific and use complete sentences.

COMP 2 DEFINITION PAPER 1

Instructions: Definition Paper

5-page paper

ASSIGNMENT
In an original paper of at least 1,000 words, define your theme. Remember that your theme is the idea you have chosen to work with over the course of the semester. If your theme is “nature,” this paper will present a definition of “nature.” If your theme is “justice,” this paper will present a definition of “justice.”

The theme for this paper is citizenship

More details will be discussed with the selected writers

Your paper should provide an encyclopedic discussion of your theme that moves readers’ understanding of your theme beyond the obvious. Your paper should be thought-provoking; the best definition papers teach readers something new about a term or invite additional discussion about a term.

This paper must focus on providing a definition. Your thesis statement should present a definition.

Your paper should include:

1. An introductory paragraph and thesis statement that identify the theme and provide an original definition of that theme, respectively. Your thesis statement should attempt to synthesize various definitions of the theme that already exist within scholarship. To synthesize means to combine various ideas into a new, single idea. The thesis statement should be a single sentence and should appear at the end of the introductory paragraph.

2. Body paragraphs that provide context for your definition, contain facts and examples, and combine research and reasoning to provide support for your thesis statement. Most good body paragraphs include a topic sentence, some of the author’s own ideas/analysis, some evidence, and a conclusion sentence that “finishes” the paragraph and reiterates the main point of the paragraph.

3. Topic and transitional sentences between paragraphs. You may use headings between different sections of the paper, but headings are not required for this assignment.

4. A conclusion paragraph and correctly formatted APA References page.

5. In-text citations.

6. A correctly formatted APA title page, including a paper title and a running header. An abstract is not required.

GOALS OF THE ASSIGNMENT

1. Analyze an assignment prompt and develop a strategy for responding to the prompt;

2. Craft an effective thesis statement that provides focus for an academic paper;

3. Use writing to show evidence of critical thinking;

4. Apply information from credible source materials;

5. Express intellectually stimulating ideas using clear, grammatically correct prose.

RESEARCH
Your paper must make use of at least two credible secondary sources. Reference sources (dictionaries, encyclopedias, almanacs, etc.) may be used in the paper, but reference sources do not count as secondary sources.

Credible secondary sources include books, articles retrieved from the library databases, government reports or documents, articles from electronic or print trade journals, and material from trustworthy, timely, peer-reviewed websites.

APA FORMATTING/CITATIONS
Use Palmquist Chapter 21 to craft the References page and in-text citations. Your paper must include in-text citations. Provide an in-text citation for any information you have learned from a source, including direct quotations, paraphrased material, factual assertions, detailed historical information that is not common knowledge, and any other material learned from a source.

 GRADING
The rough draft is worth 25 points. If you submit a complete rough draft that does not include plagiarism or another form of academic dishonesty, you will earn 25 points.

The final draft is worth 150 points and will be graded based on the grading rubric included in the course syllabus.

Papers that do not meet the word count and/or research requirement will face significant points deductions.

SUBMISSION
Submit both your rough and final draft to the Canvas.

A geopolitical community is defined by its geographical borders on a map. I live in a small town in Northwest Georgia. Its position sits at three geological zones, the Piedmont, the Appalachian Ridge and Valley Region and the Great Appalachian Valley (assessgeneology.com). Agriculture and the flooring industry are prominent in this area. A phenomenological community is one that is defined as “relational”. This means that members of a phenomenological community share the same values, interests, and goals. One such example that I belong to would be my religious group. My religious group and myself share the same values and beliefs, therefore that makes us a phenomenological community.

Some challenges for a community health nurse may be relating to a culturally diverse background. It is important for nurses to be aware of different cultures and backgrounds and for him/her to be aware of their own cultural beliefs as well. It is imperative that the nurse remain non-bias when providing care to any patient and treat the patient in a respectful manner. While providing care for similar communities may seem easy enough, this could be quite the opposite because the nurse may “take for granted” that everyone in the community shares the same views, when in fact they may not. Just because communities are similar or the “same”, doesn’t mean everyone within that community has the same views, values and beliefs. A solution to this would be to do an assessment on the community as well as the residents within the community. This will help to determine the needs of the area.

The global health issues within my community are the rates of smokers and the alarmingly increasing rate of patients diagnosed with Type II diabetes. The need for more education to stop smoking always exists in addition to the need to educate individuals on how to possibly prevent the onset of Type II diabetes. Educating individuals on how make healthy eating choices as well as to incorporate exercise into their lifestyle will help delay or prevent the onset of this debilitating disease. As a nurse in a hospital setting, I make it a priority to educate every patient I have (whether they are diagnosed with diabetes or not) on how to live a healthier lifestyle. It is so important because, as we all know, living a healthy lifestyle helps to ward off disease.

Comment 2

The community I live in is a geopolitical community because we have human-made boundaries. Geopolitical communities are formed by either natural or human-made boundaries (Maurer & Smith, 2014). Our town is divided by rail road tracks and an Interstate. The north side of the town has the nice shops and healthy communities. There are excellent schools and plenty of parks and recreation areas that are easy accessible. The south side of the town is high in crime and the houses are run down. There have several ethnic subcommunities on the south side. The south side has a couple food pantries and a free clinic

.

People in a phenomenological community have a group perspective that differentiates them from other groups. A group consists of two or more people engaged in an interdependent relationship that includes repeated face-to-face communication (Maurer & Smith, 2014). My phenomenological community would be the shard governance committee for the Acute /ICU Dialysis nurses/techs at my Hospital. The committee works together to achieve job improvements and bring up new policies and work practices for the Hospital to evaluate. The committee represents all the staff in Dialysis.

The community nurse needs to look at each community to see what kind of achievable goal she can set for each community. The goals might be different depending on the ethnic groups and social environmental factors.  We have a Hispanic community in our town and for the community nurse one aspect for consideration should be the language barrier. There are mainly the older Hispanics that do not or speak very little English. Many of them do not know what kind of services they are entitled to.
