Understanding Needs & Value

Job 12:17 “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you.”

Proverbs 20:21 “An inheritance gained hurriedly at the beginning will not be blessed in the end.”

Jesus was the Master at understanding the wants and needs of those around him. He was also skilled at and unafraid to ask questions, although he had an advantage in that He already knew the answer. We do not have that power or privilege, so we need to ask because we need to know. Everyone needed Jesus but not everyone wanted Jesus. He spoke about that in his ministry, saying “If any household or town refuses to welcome you or listen to your message, shake its dust from your feet as you leave” (Matthew 10:14). Jesus was pained by those who rebuked him but He knew it was inevitable that not everyone would be saved. He still cared for them, but he invested His time where He could make a difference.

Likewise we must understand the pains and joys of our customers, not at the core level of our being that Jesus reached, but we still need to know our customers—where they came from, where they are, and where they want to go. If someone is not interested in our offering, we should move on to a more willing prospect. To find out what they need and if they are interested, we need to ask. The more we understand who is willing, and why, and at what price, the better we can focus our offering and fill a need or want. We should not assume that we can create a marketing plan without solid research and understanding of our target market. Proverbs is a wonderful book filled with wisdom about business, we only need to be open to how those lines of truth apply today as they did thousands of years ago.

Does the Bible talk about business and about marketing? Absolutely! Marketing is about knowing people and understanding their wants and needs, and then building a relationship with those who want or need your offering now or in the future.

Question prompts: 100-150 words ( 1-2 References)

  1. How do these verses connect with the concept of marketing creating value?
  2. Is that value for the seller or buyer or both and why?

Key Question-2  (250-300 words)

How do you define value creation from a marketing perspective?

7- Action Plan Recommendation Report

Scenario

You work for Hanson Enterprises, a U.S. based company, which has decided to partner with a company in another country for both economic and philanthropic reasons. Hanson Enterprises will be able to produce their products at a lower cost and can pass those savings onto their consumers all over the world. They have also included a provision in the contract with the partnering company that employees will receive a minimum wage based on U. S. state residency. The company will also provide day care, health insurance, and retirement benefits to the employees. Further, Hanson Enterprises advertised that it will be designating funds to improve the social conditions in the community where this facility is located. You are part of a team that has been sent over to the new facility to ensure all is in accord with the contract, but what you find are employees not receiving the benefits nor the minimum wages promised; in fact, employees are having to work seven days a week with no breaks in their shifts and there are a number of safety issues in plain sight; no funds have been used to improve the community; intellectual property rights are being infringed upon; and bribes are taking place among management and other businesses in the local area.

Instructions

  2. Based on the facts, what laws and/or regulations (consider federal and international laws) would address this scenario as it relates to employment law?
  3. Based on the facts, what laws and/or regulations (consider federal and international laws) would address this scenario as it relates to intellectual property (i.e. trademarks and copyright)?
  4. Explain if it is possible to sue for breach of contract, or if there are any contract remedies available.
  5. What are the consequences if the corporate social responsibility (CSR) is not addressed?
  6. What do you think is the best legal and ethical course of action for Hanson Enterprises to take, and why is it in the best interest of the company?
  7. Use at least three credible sources. These should be cited and in APA format.

Project Part 4: Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP)

Senior management at Health Network has decided they want a business impact analysis (BIA) that examines the company’s data center and a business continuity plan (BCP). Because of the importance of risk management to the organization, management has allocated all funds for both efforts. Your team has their full support, as well as permission to contact any of them directly for participation or inclusion in the BIA or BCP.Winter storms on the East Coast have affected the ability of Health Network employees to reach the Arlington offices in a safe and timely manner. However, no BCP plan currently exists to address corporate operations. The Arlington office is the primary location for business units, such as Finance, Legal, and Customer Support. Some of the corporate systems, such as the payroll and accounting applications, are located only in the corporate offices. Each corporate location is able to access the other two, and remote virtual private network (VPN) exist between each production data center and the corporate locations. The corporate systems are not currently being backed up and should be addressed in the new plan. The BCP should also include some details regarding how the BCP will be tested. For this part of the project:

  1. Research BIAs and BCPs.
  2. Develop a draft BIA plan for the Health Network that focuses on the data center. The BIA should identify:
    1. Critical business functions
    2. Critical resources
    3. Maximum acceptable outage (MAO) and impact
    4. Recovery point objective (RPO) and recovery time objective (RTO)
  3. Develop a draft BCP that could recover business operations while efforts are ongoing to restart pervious operations. You may use or repurpose a BCP template you find online. Include a description of how you would test the plan.

M3 Lesson 7 Dissussion on Metamorphosis

⁞ Instructions

Choose one of the following assertions and write a 200 word response supporting why you agree or disagree with it. When you are done posting your response, reply to at least one classmate in no fewer than 75 words.

  1. Gregor’s transformation highlights his isolation and alienation before his metamorphosis.

    Or

  2. Despite having become an insect, Gregor is more humane and sensitive than his family.

    Or

  3. If Gregor had been a stronger person, he would have been able to avoid all of the suffering and alienation he endures.

When you are done posting your response, reply to at least one classmate in no fewer than 75 words.

Your discussion post will be graded according to the following criteria:

  • 80% – Thoughtful original post that develops a position about one of the prompts above (at least 200 words)
  • 20% – Thoughtful response to a classmate’s post that comments on what they have said (at least 75 words)

Respond to this to this post from Student:

I agree with the assertion that even after Gregor’s transformation, he is more humane and sensitive than his family. After Gregor’s transformation he is left in isolation as his family can no longer communicate with him or relate to his insect form. This isolation allows Gregor the time to analyze the effect his new identity has on his loved ones. Gregor longs for his mother but also wishes to protect her from the horror that he has become. This demonstrates that even as an insect, Gregor is capable of more sensitivity than his human family. While Gregor spares his sister, who is his sole caretaker for much of the story, by hiding under a blanket, she nor his mother hide their shock when they catch a glimpse of his insect body. His father’s attempts to kill him by hurling an apple towards him are also further evidence of a lack of sensitivity from his family. Despite their lack of humanity, Gregor continues to think positively of his family and even sympathize with them. As Gregor is succumbing to his life ending injuries, he remembers his family fondly and does not hold any resentment towards them for the way they treated him. After his death, his family is informed by the cleaning woman that his body has been taken care of. In his father’s final demonstration of insensitivity, he dismisses the woman and shows no interest in what has been done with Gregor’s corpse.

Biggest Challenges Facing Organizations in the Next 20 Years”

Assignment 3: Presentation: “Biggest Challenges Facing Organizations in the Next 20 Years”
Due Week 9 (June 7, 2021, by 8:59 am Eastern Time) and worth 185 points

In this assignment, you will create a PowerPoint presentation that outlines what you believe will be the five biggest challenges facing organizations in the next 20 years. This is your opinion. It should not be written on a specific company. This is a slide presentation where you are pretending to speak to an audience so that you begin to get comfortable presenting in front of your peers and company officials should you be asked to do so in your organization. Normally, you would be actually speaking to them, so you are asked to type the comments that you ordinarily say out loud in front of them below each slide in the designated “Notes” section. Remember that you are speaking to them from the beginning of your presentation, so you should welcome them on slide one and let them know your name and what you plan to discuss. Each slide must have comments below it. Also remember that you must identify five challenges and discuss each one on a different slide (slides 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7). Do not just select one challenge and write about it on five slides. There must be five different challenges identified.

Remember that Audio and Graphics are not required for this assignment. They take up lots of space, and your file must be 9 MB or less for it to upload properly in the system.

Write an eight (8) slide (there should only be 9 slides if you listed citations on your slides – then slide 9 would be titled, “References,” and you would list your references) presentation in which you:

  1. Provide a title      slide [slide one (1)] (as indicated in the format requirements below)      followed by a slide two (2) titled, “Introduction,” that lists      the five challenges that you plan to discuss on slides three (3) four (4),      five (5), six (6), and seven (7).
  2. Presentation      should include your choice of the five (5) different challenges [listed in      the same order that you listed them on slide two (2)] that you believe      organizations will face in the next 20 years. Only include one (1)      challenge and your explanation for choosing that challenge per slide for a      total of five (5) slides.
  3. Provide one (1)      summary slide which addresses key points of your presentation from the      five (5) challenge slides.
  4. Provide notes typed below each slide in the      “Notes” section, indicating what you would say if you      were actually presenting in front of an audience. If you are unable to      view it, then use your cursor to raise the bottom of your slide, and it      will come into view. Then, place your cursor in the ‘Notes’ section, and      you will be able to type. Be sure to begin typing comments on your title      slide and every slide thereafter because you are speaking to an audience,      so be sure to welcome and thank them for attending your presentation. Be      sure to let them know your name. Slide two (2), titled “Introduction,      should let your audience know what you plan to discuss, so be sure to type      those five (5) different challenges in that section because you are still      speaking to them.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • This course      requires use of new Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). The format is      different than other Strayer University courses. Please take a moment to      review the SWS documentation for details.
  • Format      the PowerPoint presentation with headings on each slide ensuring      that the presentation is visually appealing and readable from 18 feet      away. It is fine to also choose a background for your slides, but do not      make it too dark or too busy. Remember that it must be appealing to your      audience, so make it soft on the eyes, but viewable.
  • Include a title      slide containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the      professor’s name, the course title, and the date.
