Perform hypothesis testing on the differences between two groups and create an Excel document. Write a 2–3-page analysis of the results in a Word document and insert the results into this document. 

 

Preparation

Download the Assessment 2 Dataset [XLSX].

The dataset contains the following variables:

• clinic1 (total number of visits per month for clinic 1).
• clinic2 (total number of visits per month for clinic 2).

 

Instructions

An investor needs to make a decision on whether to acquire one of two medical clinics based on their productivity, as measured by the total number of visits per month. You have been asked whether there is a significance difference in the total number of visits per month between clinic 1 and clinic 2.

For this assessment, perform hypothesis testing on the differences between two groups in the Assessment 2 Dataset. Create an appropriately labeled Excel document with your results. Also write an analysis of the results in a Word document. Insert the test results into this document (copied from the output file and pasted into a Word document). Refer to Copy From Excel to Another Office Program for instructions.

Submit both the Word document and the Excel file that shows the results.

You are required to write 3 critiques about 3 different kinds of events during the entire semester. You will be submitting critique no. 2  here by the due date February 22nd (11:59pm)

The  critique needs to be at least 200 words, double space, which fits one page. Correct spelling, grammar and correct punctuation counts. (see critique guidelines for format example)

As you describe the visual art or performance, you will use at least 5 vocabulary words (from the ones we have studied or others you may know). 

You may not repeat an art form (for example if you did a painting  for a previous critique, you cannot do another painting except for the extra credit critique which can be on any art form).

What to critique? Live activities such as plays (theater), concerts (classical or jazz), visual art works (painting, sculptures, etc.) or analyze a building (architecture).

Note: Due to the coronavirus situation, you can choose an art work or a performance from an online source. For music, do not use contemporary music, classical and jazz are preferred (Broadway shows are acceptable). For performances, look for videos recorded “live” so that you can still experience some of the live components.

you are working for the research wing of the National Institute of Justice. You have been assigned to a governmental task force that is investigating murder and other violent crimes in the U.S. You have been asked to prepare a speech and brief the members of the Department of Justice with regard to your findings.

In your findings, you need to first differentiate between criminology and victimology. Some members of your audience do not know much about victimology so you need to be very detailed in your explanations.

You will also need to explain at least three different theories on victimization. Give the strengths and weaknesses of each theory that you choose.

Point out what the financial and psychological impacts are for murder victims or family members.

In addition to your speech, you need to create a chart that compares whether the U.S. has a higher or lower incidence of violent crime than U.K., Australia, South Africa, and Japan. Create this chart in Microsoft Excel.

Based on the analysis of your speech, answer the following questions in the same document where you have created the chart:

Does the U.S. have more violent crimes than other countries?

Do people’s lifestyles in the U.S. place them more at risk than in other countries, or does the U.S. simply have more motivated criminals? Which one do you agree with and why?

How does victim compensation work in the United States?

Therapy for Patients With Impulsive/Substance Use Disorders (SUD)

Impulsivity and compulsivity have a wide range of clinical presentations and often overlap with many other psychiatric disorders. Some individuals act without forethought and have difficulty saying “no” to certain things, such as using illicit drugs or spending money, whereas other individuals engage in compulsive behaviors with undesirable consequences. In some cases, these impulsive and compulsive behaviors also fuel issues with addiction. To effectively assess and treat patients, you must understand how these disorders differ as well as how their symptoms impact patients and their families.

This week, as you examine therapies for individuals with impulsivity, compulsivity, and addiction, you explore the assessment and treatment of patients with these disorders. You also consider ethical and legal implications of these therapies.

Assignment: Assessing and Treating Patients With Impulsivity, Compulsivity, and Addiction

Impulsivity, compulsivity, and addiction are challenging disorders for patients across the life span. Impulsivity is the inclination to act upon sudden urges or desires without considering potential consequences; patients often describe impulsivity as living in the present moment without regard to the future (MentalHelp.net, n.d.). Thus, these disorders often manifest as negative behaviors, resulting in adverse outcomes for patients. For example, compulsivity represents a behavior that an individual feels driven to perform to relieve anxiety (MentalHelp.net, n.d.). The presence of these behaviors often results in addiction, which represents the process of the transition from impulsive to compulsive behavior.

In your role as the psychiatric nurse practitioner (PNP), you have the opportunity to help patients address underlying causes of the disorders and overcome these behaviors.
