EBP and Quadrupple aim

Assignment: Evidence-Based Practice and the Quadruple Aim

Healthcare organizations continually seek to optimize healthcare performance. For years, this approach was a three-pronged one known as the Triple Aim, with efforts focused on improved population health, enhanced patient experience, and lower healthcare costs.

More recently, this approach has evolved to a Quadruple Aim by including a focus on improving the work life of healthcare providers. Each of these measures are impacted by decisions made at the organizational level, and organizations have increasingly turned to EBP to inform and justify these decisions.

To Prepare:

  • Read the articles by Sikka, Morath, & Leape (2015); Crabtree, Brennan, Davis, & Coyle (2016); and Kim et al. (2016) provided in the Resources.
  • Reflect on how EBP might impact (or not impact) the Quadruple Aim in healthcare.
  • Consider the impact that EBP may have on factors impacting these quadruple aim elements, such as preventable medical errors or healthcare delivery.

To Complete:

Write a brief analysis (no longer than 2 pages) of the connection between EBP and the Quadruple Aim.

Your analysis should address how EBP might (or might not) help reach the Quadruple Aim, including each of the four measures of:

  • Patient experience
  • Population health
  • Costs
  • Work life of healthcare providers

Intel Annual Report Evaluation

review the Intel Annual Report 2013 (Links to an external site.). You will use the annual report to complete the steps listed below.

Part 1: Calculate Ratios

Using the Intel Annual Report, calculate the following financial ratios for all years presented:

  • Liquidity Ratios (Current and Quick): measures ability to meet cash needs.
  • Leverage Ratios (Debt to Equity, Debt Ratio): measures extent of financing with debt relative to equity and the ability to cover interest and other fixed charges.
  • Profitability Ratios (Gross Profit Margin, Net Profit Margin): measures overall performance of organization and efficiency in measuring assets, liabilities and equity.

Part 2: Report Findings

Write a report to the management of Intel. Your report should include your findings from the ratios (liquidity, leverage, and profitability) and your evaluation of the financial health of Intel based on your evaluation. Your report should also include your identification of the strengths and weaknesses of the company and your evaluation of the financial strength of Intel.

In your report,

  • Add your calculated ratios from Part 1 (i.e., liquidity ratio, leverage ratio, and profitability from the Intel annual report).
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of the company by reviewing the analysis of the financial statements and ratios evaluated.
  • Analyze the financial health of the company based on the annual report.
  • Compile a financial health report to present to Intel management.
  • Use at least four scholarly, peer-reviewed, or credible resources in addition to the course text and Intel Annual Report to support your analysis of the financial health of the company.

The Intel Annual Report Evaluation

  • Must be six to seven double-spaced pages in length (not including title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Writing Center’s APA Style (Links to an external site.) resource. Use the online library to research industry comparisons and Intel information.
  • Must include a separate title page with the following:
    • Title of report
    • Student’s name
    • Course name and number

    • Date submitted

.1200 word minimum three scholarly sources due 5/8

This week, we’ve been introduced to the humanities and have taken some time to consider the role of the humanities in establishing socio-cultural values, including how the humanities differ from the sciences in terms of offering unique lenses on the world and our reality. Since one of the greatest rewards of being a human is engaging with different forms of art, we’ve taken some time this week to learn about what it means to identify and respond to a work of art. We’ve learned about the difference between abstract ideas and concrete images and concepts like structure and artistic form. To help you deepen your understanding of these foundational ideas, your Unit 1 assignment will consist of writing an essay addressing using the following criteria:

Essay Requirements:

•    1,000 words or roughly four double-spaced pages.
•    Make use of at least three scholarly sources to support and develop your ideas. Our course text may serve as one of these three sources.
•    Your essay should demonstrate a thorough understanding of the READ and ATTEND sections.
•    Be sure to cite your sources using proper APA format (7th edition). For help with APA, visit the Bethel Library website to explore a plethora of APA-related tutorials, help videos and resources.

Essay Prompt:

•    In this essay, you will consider the meaning of art and artistic form by responding to these questions:
o    To what extent does Kevin Carter’s Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph (figure 2-5) have artistic form?
o    Using what you’ve learned in Chapters 1, 2 and 14 explain if you consider Carter’s photograph a work of art? Be sure to point to specific qualities of the photograph to support/develop your response.
o    How do you measure the intensity of your experience in response to Carter’s photograph? What does it make you see/feel/imagine and how does your response/reaction support Carter’s image as a work of art?

* You must use accounting terms, this assessment if for account

  •  Complete a 2-part assessment in which you analyze and compute financial ratios and interpret the results of a multi-year financial ratio analysis.
Smart investors also execute due diligence by performing a bit of financial statement analysis (also known as ratio analysis), where financial statement numbers are used to evaluate three characteristics of an organization’s performance: (1) liquidity, (2) profitability, and (3) solvency.
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:

    • Competency 2: Apply accounting cycle strategies to manage business financial events.
      • Compute financial ratios using accounting data from financial statements.
      • Interpret the results of financial ratios.
      • Interpret trends found in a multi-year financial ratio analysis.
      • Recommend strategies to improve financial trends.
  •  Competency Map
    CHECK YOUR PROGRESS
Use this online tool to track your performance and progress through your course.

You have reached the end of the organization’s accounting period. The accounting cycle, consisting of recording transactions, transferring to the ledger, and preparing the financial statements, is complete for this calendar or fiscal (an accounting period other than January to December) year. So now, what do you do with all the accounting information that has been gathered? You analyze it, synthesize it, and use it to make decisions concerning the current health of the organization and its future financial direction.
If you were a potential investor (and had some disposable income to burn), you would mostly likely look through the annual reports of various organizations, read the comments of key decision makers, talk to friends and family members, and make an informed decision about which organization deserves your hard-earned money. Or, you could trust Wall Street to advise you on where to invest your money (but remember, they get a cut of your investment dollars as a commission).

    Questions to Consider

To deepen your understanding, you are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend, or a member of the business community.
    Consider these final reflections:

    • What did you find to be the most complicated?
    • What did you find to be the least complicated?
    • What concept or principle surprised you the most?
    • Which concepts and principles do you believe you will use the most in your professional life

    Assessment Instructions

This assessment includes two parts. Use the templates provided as you complete each part. Both of the templates are linked in the Resources under the Required Resources heading. Note that for Part 2 you will use the template for data but will create your own document to submit.
    Part 1: Ratio Analysis
Making sense of accounting data on financial statements can be difficult. Thankfully, combining numbers from income statements, balance sheets, and other data provides a starting point to analyze a company’s financial results. You now have the opportunity to demonstrate your prowess by identifying and computing financial ratios.
Using the Assessment 5, Part 1 Template, analyze and compute the necessary financial ratios. The Financial Statements worksheet in the template contains the income statement, balance sheets, and additional information needed. The Ratio Analysis worksheet contains space for your calculations and answers.
Part 2: Interpreting Financial Statement Analysis
What does the calculation of a financial statement ratio represent? How does one year compare to another? Is there a trend to the ratio data? Is the trend positive or negative? What can be done to change the trend? These are some of the questions that can be answered when the ratio data is interpreted. For this part of the assessment, demonstrate your ability to interpret the results of a multi-year financial ratio analysis.
On the Assessment 5, Part 2 Template you will find selected ratios for a company over a two-year period. Compare the ratios, and in a separate document (Word or Excel), submit your answers to the following questions:

    1. What does the calculation of each ratio represent?
    2. How does year one compare with year two, and what trend can be seen when you compare the two years?
    3. Is the trend from year one to year two positive or negative?
    4. What are the possible reasons for the trend?
    5. What recommendations do you have for turning a negative trend to a positive trend?
  •  Submit the completed template for Part 1 and the document you created with answers to the questions for Part 2 for this assessment.

Internal and External Environments that Affect Strategic Planning

Saudi Vision 2030 details the long-term goals that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) hopes to achieve. These ambitious goals are well defined, extremely detailed, and impact all levels of society. Review the message from HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Aziz Al-Saud about Saudi Arabia’s Vision for the future: https://vision2030.gov.sa/en/vision/crown-message/.

After reviewing the vision statement from HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Aziz Al-Saud and other components of Vision 2030, select an organization of your choice, which is located in the KSA. Then, address the following:

  • Critique the organization’s mission statement, values, and vision.
  • Explain the alignment, or lack thereof, of the selected organization’s mission, values, and vision with Saudi Vision 2030.
  • Address what improvements must be made to the organization’s mission statement, values, and vision to ensure further alignment with Vision 2030.
  • Explain why all organizations located in the KSA must align their strategy with Vision 2030.

Your well-written paper should meet the following requirements:

  • Be 4 pages in length, which does not include the title and reference pages, which are never a part of the content minimum requirements.
  • Use academic writing standards and APA style guidelines.
  • Support your submission with course material concepts, principles, and theories from the textbook and at least two scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles.
  • 100% free plagiarism.

Update Schedule Documents Reflecting Compressed Schedule

Submit an updated Gantt chart and network/PERT diagram based on fast tracking one activity and crashing one additional activity. Include an explanation to your sponsor and key stakeholders describing the requirements and impact of these two adjustments and any schedule compression risks that should be addressed based on the unique characteristics of your project.

Note: The purpose of the project is to implement and train healthcare practitioners of the local clinic on EHR (electronic health records) systems.

You have your project scope baseline (project scope statement, WBS, and WBS Dictionary) and your project schedule baseline (Gantt chart and network/PERT diagram) defined. This is a great start to managing your project, but don’t get too comfortable. The one thing we are certain about in managing a project is that during the project lifecycle, something will change. Most experience project manages assume that change is a given, particularly as requirements need to be adjusted once stakeholders have a better idea of what is required to meet their needs. This week you will optimize your project schedule to reduce the time required to complete the project. This optimized schedule will result in an updated schedule baseline.

Education Current Event

Find a current event that relates to the chapter being covered this week. Briefly summarize the current event and how it relates to the chapter we are covering. You may choose something related to politics, celebrities, local news, etc. but whatever it is make sure that it is not a conspiracy theory and comes from a legitimate site and that the event can be verified. This should be a minimum of 1 page double spaced 12point font.

Education isn’t equal

While we have a public education system, that system is not equal by any means. During the Democratic National Convention in 2016, someone (I believe it was Andrew Cuomo, yeah that Andrew Cuomo) gave a speech about inequities in our education system. The person said that you can go to 2 public schools in the same district and ask the same question, “Show me your best technology” and in one school their answer will all of the iPads and Macbooks the students are doing their work on and in the other school they will show you their metal detectors. This is a systemic problem. The systematic defunding of public education is impacting lower-income communities in far more negative ways than it is higher-income communities. We hear feel-good stories about how a principal is working the night shift at the grocery store to provide students in his school with basics, or Ellen gives $50,000 to a school where the teachers were providing things like toilet paper and pencils from their own money, and somehow no one ever asks how the f*** we are in a situation where this is even possible! How does a school not have toilet paper? How do schools not have libraries or pencils or desks?! How?! These are not feel-good stories these are horror stories that can only be fixed by passing laws and policies and budgets at the state and federal levels.

Global HR

I need by Saturday (but Sun will work).   Let me know if you can respond  to this student.  You will need to look at scholar google for  references (need 2).  I need to know if you can fit it in — I am  slammed this week.  NO PLAG – original thoughts and response.

The quote by Joseph Kessels “You cannot be smart against your will” resonates with anyone that is purposeful with learning.

As DBA students, on some level, you are pursuing your doctorate for the fundamental purpose of learning and achieving the highest level of education in the field of management.

If knowledge is essential to your core, then adding quality learning and development into an organizations culture would be imperative.

If you read the editorial by Poell (2012), he introduces the concept of the Learning Network Theory.

The Learning Network Theory that Poell (2012) discusses describes that employees create their own “learning paths.”

The concept of a learning path refers to a set of learning-relevant activities that are both coherent as a whole and meaningful to the employee (Poell & Van der Krogt, 2010).

The concept of learning paths is stated at a high level to give freedom of direction with the questions.

The questions I propose to everyone are:

  1. What are some ways that an      employee can create learning paths? Is international different?
  2. What impact does technology have      on learning paths? (Hint: think back to Cindy’s topic last week)
  3. Since      learning paths are meaningful to the employee is there a correlation with      intrinsic motivation of the employee?

article 2 review

Article Review 2: Survival Guide for Leaders, Heiftez & Linsky, 2002

In so much as sport management is the application of business principles to the sport industry, it is beneficial for the student to examine literature that is outside of sport and identify ways to make application of those principles within the sport context. This is the case with Heifetz & Linsky’s article Survival Guide for Leaders (Heifetz & Linsky, 2002). In this article the student will learn about the external pressures and the internal pressures that leaders must manage in order to survive in these important positions.

Summarize the main points of the article.

· “The ‘survival guide’ has two main parts. The first looks outward, offering tactical advice about relating to your organization and the people in it. It is designed to protect you from those people trying to push you aside before you complete your initiative (p. 3).”

Identify and describe the four (4) pieces of tactical advice given by the authors.

· “The second [part] looks inward, focusing on your own human needs and vulnerabilities. It is designed to keep you from bringing yourself down. (p. 3)”

Identify and describe these two (2) pieces of advice given by the authors.

Analyze the main points of the article and discuss their application to the manager/leader in the sport context.

· Why do leaders fail to get off the dance floor and on to the balcony?

· One of my first acts as a head volleyball coach was to cut a walk-on who was not “good enough.” Why was that an important decision/act for me and for my team?

· Describe a situation where you have seen someone turn up the heat to produce a productive range of stress? Was it effective? Why or why not?

· If leaders are supposed to be problem solvers, why should they let (demand, expect) others solve organizational problems?

· How can someone be a leader if they should restrain their desire for control and their need for importance?

· How do the authors recommend anchoring yourself? Which of these is the most important, why?

· How do (should) we as Christians anchor ourselves?

Conclusion

· If leadership brings with it these kinds of challenges, why do people still choose to be leaders?

· What are your key take-aways from the article?

· How do the concepts presented in the article complement (align with) or contract your Biblical world view?

Your assignment must be completed based on the following criteria:

· At least 3 pages;

· 1-inch margins;

· Double-spaced;

· 12-point, Times New Roman font;

· A reference page in APA format with the article citation and any other sources used in the assignment; and

· Clear biblical integration

Include a title on the top line of the first page, and include your name. No other identifying information is needed.
