As explained in the PDF reading “Matching the Product with the Audience When Marketing Yourself,” it’s critical to understand your product (i.e., your skills, attributes, personality, core values, etc.) and to determine and understand your target audiences (i.e., potential employers, colleagues, customers, career gatekeepers, etc.). For this assignment, you’ll work to outline your potential target audiences, determine what those audiences desire, and then decide how you’ll match your product with your target audiences. Using either a paragraph, outline, or table format, do the following:

 1. List Current Audiences. List various audiences (at least 8) to whom you currently market yourself on a daily, weekly, or other periodic basis. These might include potential employers, current employers, friends, family, teachers, various societal segments, social groups, customers, colleagues, employees, store personnel, vendors/suppliers, social media audiences, etc. Don’t forget that these audiences might be face-to-face, online, over the phone, etc. For each audience, be extremely specific as to who this audience is. Don’t just say “store employees” when you can say “the early morning employees at the Starbucks that I go to every weekday.” Don’t just say “my coworkers” when you can say “my co-workers Cristina, Derek, and Victoria who work in the cubicles next to mine.”

2. Importance of Current Audiences. For each of the 8+ current audiences, provide some insights as to why each particular audience might be important to you in your marketing yourself efforts. How can impressing each audience help you?

3. What Current Audiences Want From You. Finally, for each of the 8+ current audiences you listed, write down at least three characteristics (features, attributes, skills, traits, values, etc.) that they would desire in a person such as you. Although there may be some similar traits or characteristics across the audiences you listed, each audience likely will desire some unique characteristics as well.

4. List Prospective Audiences. Your next step is to add at least three new “prospective” target audiences to whom you would like to market yourself in the near or distant future. Again, they can be potential employers in a particular industry, friends, social groups, customers, fans, readers, etc. While it’s good to be specific as to the industry, type of people, etc., you don’t have to be as specific as you were in Step 1 because you may not know the details of these audiences yet.

 5. Importance of Prospective Audiences. As you did in Step 2 with your “current” audiences, for each of the 3+ “prospective” audiences, provide some insights as to why each particular audience might be important to you in your future marketing yourself efforts. How can impressing each audience help you? 6. What Prospective Audiences Want From You. For each of the 3+ “prospective” target audiences, write down at least three characteristics (features, attributes, skills, traits, values, etc.) that they would desire in a person such as you. Because you may not really know these audiences very well, you may end up estimating this section more than the other ones. Nevertheless, consider what characteristics would be important to each audience.

7. Product/Audience Match. Now consider how well you’re matching your Product You with the desired attributes of the (at least 8) current audiences and the (at least 3) prospective audiences that you listed. Discuss the matches as well as the discrepancies (the instancesin which you don’t match).

8. Changing Product You. Discuss what you can do to have a better match between your various target audiences and the product (set of attributes, traits, etc.) that you’re offering. How can you change your Product You as well as your Personal/Professional Brand to better market yourself to these various audiences?

This section consists of a set of self-improvement recommendations.

English composition.

An effective description leaves the reader with a dominant impressionan overall attitude, mood, or feeling about the subject. The impression may be awe, inspiration, anger, or distaste, for example.

Read the following paragraph and take out details that do not contribute to the dominant impression.  List the details you took out and explain why you chose those details.

All morning I had some vague sense that something untoward was about to happen. I suspected bad news was on its way. As I stepped outside, the heat of the summer sun, unusually oppressive for ten o’clock, seemed to sear right through me. In fact, now that I think about it, everything seemed slightly out of kilter that morning. The car, which had been newly painted the week before, had stalled several times. The flowers in the garden, planted for me by my husband, purchased from a nursery down the road, were drooping. It was as though they were wilting before they even had a chance to grow. Even my two cats, which look like furry puffballs, moved listlessly across the room, ignoring my invitation to play. It was then that I received the phone call from the emergency room telling me about my son’s accident.

Discussion Board #3 – Discussion Board #3 6

This week we explored the idea corporate moral accountability – with two contrasting views (i.e, corporations to be moral agents and arguments against that position).  You were also presented information about how businesses engage in political processes, including why and at what scale.

Concerning the Case of the Big Oil Spills, BP has made financial reparations for Deepwater Horizon to the tune of $16 billion.  However, in 2015 manslaughter charges for two managers were dropped.  No individual has faced accountability for the disaster.  Since the corporation can only face reparations financially, it is likely no further accountability will be assigned as a result of the incident.

Suggested discussion post options:

  • Are the financial reparations paid by the company sufficient to atone for the disaster?  Using reasoning tools from this week’s material explain your position.
  • Using aprefered view of corproate moral accountability, how might the blame for the global state of carbon pollution be on a corporate moral agent.  You may use either French’s position (that it could be a corporation) or Danley’s position..
  • Do you believe corporations have sufficient status (morally not legally) to exert such a great influence on the political process in the pursuit of profits?  Defend your position.
  • If the impacts of effective lobbying and campaign funding diminish governments role as a corporate enforcer, how might corporations be held accountable?
  • If you are in a corporation engaging in or heading toward unethical acts, what would you do (be sure to include course content)?.
  • If the oil industry and environment case persectives do not suit your inerst, feel free to engage this week’s theoretical content on last week’s Facebook case scenario.
  • Any other take-aways or learning you gained from this week’s readying/content.

Debate – Personal Bankruptcy

This is a one page writing, double space.

I need a debate on my colleague’s work. Your position needs  to be backed up by the united states law. Your debate needs to be cited. I will provide the book chapter…

Work from my classmate is bellow…..

 Personal Bankruptcy

Three months ago, Janet Hart’s husband of twenty years died of cancer. Although he had medical insurance, he left Janet with outstanding medical bills of more than $50,000. Janet has worked at the local library for the past ten years, earning $1,500 per month. Since her husband’s death, Janet also has received $1,500 in Social Security benefits and $1,100 in life insurance proceeds every month, giving her a monthly income of $4,100. After she pays the mortgage payment of $1,500 and the amounts due on other debts each month, Janet barely has enough left over to buy groceries for her family (she has two teenage daughters at home). She decides to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, hoping for a fresh start. Using the information provided in the chapter, answer the following questions.

  1. Under the Bankruptcy Code after the reform act, what must Janet do before filing a petition for relief under Chapter 7?
  2. How much time does Janet have after filing the bankruptcy petition to submit the required sched-ules? What happens if Janet does not meet the deadline?
  3. Assume that Janet files a petition under Chapter 7. Further assume that the median family income in the state in which Janet lives is $49,300. What steps would a court take to determine whether Janet’s petition is presumed to be substantial abuse under the means test?
  4. Suppose the court determines that no presumption of substantial abuse applies in Janet’s case. Nevertheless, the court finds that Janet does have the ability to pay at least a portion of the medical bills out of her disposable income. What would the court likely order in that situation?

Debate This:
Rather than being allowed to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy petitions, individuals and couples should always be forced to make an effort to pay off their debts through Chapter 13

ANSWER:

Q1: Before filing a bankruptcy petition, the Bankruptcy Code after the reform act requires that Janet ensure that she has a certificate from an approved credit counseling agency, confirming her attendance of individual counseling sessions on finances six months before filing the petition (DeNicola).

Q2: Janet has a deadline of 45 days after filing for bankruptcy to present schedules to the bankruptcy court, and failure results in an automatic dismissal of the petition (Miller 611).

Q3: In a case where Janet files for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, she will undergo the substantial abuse and mean test examination to ensure she qualifies for bankruptcy (Miller 611). The court will compare her average median income of $49,200 per year and state median family income of $49,300 per year.  Given that her income is lower than the state median income, she qualifies for relief as she does not satisfy substantial abuse.

Q4: Suppose Janet qualifies for bankruptcy without substantial abuse, yet she can pay a portion of medical bills. In that case, the court can decide to reduce the medical insurance cover provided for Janet to enable her to make payments of portions of her medical bills.

Debate

Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy petitions both have their pros and cons; however, Chapter 13 presents the best option for individuals and couples. Chapter 13 gives the debtor control over their property than chapter 7. Chapter 7 offers courts legal possession allowing them to determine which property to sell to repay loans. However, Chapter 13 allows debtors to retain the property but develop a plan for repayment with the court over three to five years, giving them ample time to complete payments (US Court). Chapter 13 offer broad debt discharges as compared to Chapter 7. Chapter 7 provides discharges after selling non-exempt property and paying secure debtors (DeNicola). However, it does not discharge obligations for child support and student loans. Chapter 13 discharge includes property settlement debts in divorce and debts from non-dischargeable tax obligations (US Court). Chapter 13 offers third-party protection from guarantors. Chapter 7 discharges consumer debts but does not protect guarantors from the obligation to pay debts. Chapter 13 prevent creditors from protecting guarantors from financial obligation to the creditor (US Court). Therefore, it is more suitable to apply Chapter 13 than Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

      Scenario
You have recently been promoted to Health Services Manager at Three Mountains Regional Hospital, a small hospital located in a mid-size city in the Midwest. Three Mountains is a general medical and surgical facility with 400 beds. Last year there were approximately 62,000 emergency visits and 15,000 admissions. More than 6,000 outpatient and 10,000 inpatient surgeries were performed.

You have been asked by the CEO to create an intake packet for new patients that will help establish patient trust. Once you’ve created this packet, the CEO wants you to send an email to all hospital employees letting them know about the intake packet. You will also create a PowerPoint reviewing intake packet details for the hospital to post on its website to inform patients.

      Instructions
This is a great opportunity to tie everything together that you have learned! Let’s break this up into 3 parts. Deep breath – it’s easier than it seems!

      Part 1: Intake Packet

    • Create a New Patient Letter in a business letter format. (Here is a library resource for help writing a business letter.)
    • In the letter:
    • Explain the importance of ethics
    • Explain why each part of the packet is included and how the packet is to be used
    • Include a HIPAA/Confidentiality statement and a Privacy Pledge
    • Add a line at the bottom of the form for the patient to sign acknowledging receipt
    • On a separate page, include your reference list in APA format.
    • Part 2: PowerPoint

    • Part 3: Email
    • Write an email in a Word document that will be sent out to all hospital employees making them aware of the intake packet. (Make sure your email uses proper email formatting. (Here is a library resource for help writing a professional email.)

Comparative Essay

This essay requires that you find a core relationship between one Fallacy/Effect/Bias (e.g. The Third Person Effect,  Confirmation Bias, Groupthink, etc) and Is Glenn Greenwald the Future of News? or The Certainty of Donald Rumsfeld.

For the first option, the objective here would be to carefully show how a journalistic theory, expressed by Greenwald orKeller, displays an awareness of the pitfalls of one of the aforementioned biases/effects.

For the second option, the objective is to show how the rationality, the argumentative tactics, deployed by Rumsfeld, reveal a strategic use of one of the fallacies/effects/biases.

For either option, rhetorically, introduce one of the biases/effects, and explain how this phenomenon applies to understanding or communicating information in general. Once you have both explained the concept at its core, and described how it would apply to the goals of journalism or the goals of this politician, then argumentatively connect it within the debate between Keller and Greenwald or Rumsfeld’s individual statements.

Essentially (for option one) you want to make the case that either Keller or Greenwald’s metric is more conscientious of the particular bias/effect and thus their particular approach is more capable of avoiding its consequences.

Essentially (for option two) you want to make the case that Rumsfeld’s strategic use of a particular fallacy/bias/effect, allows him to argumentatively push an agenda forward.

HS440M2 Cost Structure, Reimbursement, and Financial Analysis in Health Care

HS440M2-2: Describe international standard diagnosis classification use in the US health care reimbursement and billing system.

Imagine you were appointed the Chief Financial Officer of your hospital, and you have a new crisis to confront. Your hospital received an unannounced visit from a CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) surveyor following a serious patient billing complaint. Your hospital is well-known both regionally and nationally for quality and safety, but the complaint threatens the hospital’s CMS enrollment, accreditation, and reputation. The surveyor determined that violations did occur, and the hospital has 90 days to resolve the issue or lose its Medicare funding. The violations include upcoding, duplicated and phantom charges, unbundling, and incorrect quantities.

You will create a plan for dealing with this crisis. The plan should consider current business processes, strategy, and communication processes to make the plan a reality. Also, consider how the crisis affects the staff and how you can reduce the amount of stress and pressure on them. Resolving the issue is just the beginning of the process. You need to determine if there was a process or system failure and figure out the solution to that failure. You should also develop a contingency plan for the future so the hospital will be prepared in the future for similar crisis events.

You need to explain the concepts of diagnosis classification, care reimbursement, and the billing system used in the hospital and by insurance companies for reimbursement for care received. You will explain how the hospital will meet patients’ needs, priorities, and expectations in a manner that exemplifies the values of respect, compassion, justice, and community pride. You need to explain the hazards of insurance, who pays for services, and the payment methods and plans available. Lastly, include the importance of proper medical billing and coding.

Instructions

Create either an audio recording or video recording at least 5 minutes in length to explain your planned proposal to deal with the violations and return the hospital into compliance within the 60 days given by CMS.

You will need to include:

  • An explanation of concepts of diagnosis classification, care reimbursement, and the billing system used in the hospital and by insurance companies for reimbursement for care received.
  • An explanation of how the hospital will meet patient’ needs, priorities and expectations in a manner that exemplifies the values of respect, compassion, justice, and community pride.
  • Each of the violations upcoding, duplicated charges, phantom charges, unbundling, and incorrect quantities. Then, explain what will be done so these violations will not occur again.
  • A contingency plan for the future so the hospital will be better prepared for similar crisis events.
  • Your work will be presented in an audio or video recording, as you will be submitting your presentation to this group of hospital employees, board members, and interested citizens and groups.
  • Options to record include (but are not limited to) your computer (PC or Mac), Screencastify which is a free add-on to Chrome, Zoom, or using an app of your choice on a smartphone or tablet.

Submit your recording link or file to the Dropbox along with your APA formatted references you used to support your oral presentation.

Video Requirements:

  • Explains the concepts of diagnosis classification, care reimbursement, and the billing system used in the hospital and by insurance companies for reimbursement for care received.
  • Explains how the hospital will meet patients’ needs, priorities, and expectations in a manner that exemplifies the values of respect, compassion, justice, and community pride.
  • Addresses each of the violations upcoding, duplicated charges, phantom charges, unbundling, and incorrect quantities. Then explain what will be done so these violations will not occur again.
  • Develops a contingency plan for the future so the hospital will be better prepared for similar crisis events.
  • Is at least 5 minutes in length.

Minimum Submission Requirements

  • Proper notification of any resubmission, repurposing, or reworking of prior work per the Purdue Global Student Coursework Resubmission, Repurposing, and Reworking Policy Resource.
    • This assessment should be a recording 5 minutes in length.
    • Respond to the questions in a thorough manner, providing specific examples of concepts, topics, definitions, and other elements asked for in the questions. Your submission should be highly organized, logical, and focused.
    • Your submission should provide a clearly established and sustained viewpoint and purpose.
    • Your video should be well ordered, logical, and unified, as well as original and insightful.
    • Your submission must be presented in Standard English and demonstrate exceptional content, organization, and style.
    • A separate page along with your submission should contain a list of references in APA format. Use your textbook, the Library, and the internet for research.
    • Review the writing resources for APA formatting and citation found in Academic Tools. Additional writing resources can be found within the Academic Success Center.
    • If the work submitted for this competency assessment does not meet the minimum submission requirements, it will be returned for revision. If the work submitted does not meet the minimum submission requirements by the end of the term, you will receive a failing score.

I got interested in Anthropology because I believe that it falls in line with Sociology. There are two main topics that interest me based on the four fields of Anthropology. The first one being Cultural or Socio-Cultural Anthropology. This field links into Sociology the most, with the studies of cultures and how they have changed, evolved or not evolved over the years or even present day society and culture. Our current state of the world I feel is becoming for fluid and evolved, there for changes within the Cultural Anthropology world would be interesting to study, specifically gender and sexuality. Which brings me to the second field I’m interested in, Biological or Bioanthropology.

Biological Anthropology interests me because recently my child came out as transgender and I feel that this area of research would help me to educate myself on changes that have occurred through out history and how the biological makeup of our lives is influenced by our society and culture. The study of our genetic inheritance is very interesting to me for not only gender and sexuality but health issues as well. How does our human makeup work and turn us into who we are today or who we will be in the future?
