Consider what other companies similar to yours are doing, assess the positives and negatives of each method, and offer the best recommendation to your department.

Assignment

Write a report that first defines the problem, analyzes various methods used to recruit new employees, and then recommends the most appropriate and effective method(s) for your company. Support your conclusions and recommendations with secondary research (at least 3 journal articles and 2 Internet sources) and primary research (questionnaire).

Your primary audience will be Ms. Starling, director of HR. Your secondary audience company executive; your tertiary audience will be your co-workers.

Option 2 Scenario and Assignment

Your team members are the co-directors of training in the HR department of Future Now Technology, Inc., in Tranquil See, California. Your boss, Ms. Utopia Dringlesohn, director of HR, is concerned that many of the firm’s 2000 white-collar employees use their computers for hours each day but do not know how to touch- keyboard. He believes the hunt-and-peck method is inefficient and increases the possibility of making errors when inputting data, thus lowering reliability.

Mr. Buzzman has asked your team to recommend a software program that teaches users how to touch type. He requires a program that is Windows (PC)-compatible, geared to adults, educationally sound, and can be learned individually, without an instructor being present.

Assignment

Identify and evaluate three to five keyboarding software programs that meet these criteria, and write a formal report recommending the best program. Justify your choice using primary (questionnaire) and secondary research (at least 3 journal articles and 2 World Wide Web sources).

Your primary audience will be MS. Dringlesohn. Your secondary audience will be company executives; your tertiary audience will be you co-workers.

In business, you will write a variety of reports, each having different purposes and audiences. Your Formal Report will offer you a variety of real-world writing scenarios (e.g., a proposal to build a restaurant; identify a problem and propose a solution for a small, local, privately owned business, etc.).

The purpose of the assignment is that often times, when people are looking for a new job; they are often enticed by the direct compensation, i.e. the wages, not really giving any thought to the benefits before making their decisions. In addition, it is common for employees to be unaware of the benefits that are available to them as well as to access them. Besides becoming familiar with the benefits offered to employees by yours and other organizations, you be able to evaluate the total compensation being offered by organizations for the purpose of job offers and benchmarking to help your organization remain competitive.

A few things to remember:

  • You should be able to address the topic effectively using 10 slides
  • Do not forget to use bullet points or short sentences on your slides and expand on your note pages, or you can add audio.
  • Graphics should be complementary to the narrative and not overwhelming or distracting from the content.

Overview

This assignment consists of two sections: analysis and design  document, a requirements document, and a project plan that is created  through the use of MS Project. This assignment addresses how both monetary and fiscal policies have  been used during the so-called Great Recession, which began in December  2007 and ended in June 2009, to the present to moderate the business  cycle.

Media, Gender and Identity

You only need to choose and answer 5 questions out of the 8 questions listed here. Each short essay question is 20 points. Limit your answers to no more than 200 words per question (100-200 words would be ideal). Answers exceeding 200 words will lead to 3 points of deduction in grades for each question.

8.In light of the gender and representation theories we learned in class, reflect upon how your own gender identity is formed. Can you describe one particular TV show, book, or movie (or other form of mass media) that has significant impact on your understanding of gender and the formation of your gender identity?
