Case Study 7. Martha Rogers

Charlie Dee is a 56-year-old male client with a 30-year history of smoking two packs of cigarettes per day. He is seeing nurse practitioner Sandra Gee for the first time after being diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Pattern appraisal begins with eliciting the client’s description of his experience with this disease, his perceptions of his health, and how the disease is expressed (symptoms). Mr. Dee states that he has a productive cough that is worse in the morning, gets short of breath whenever he is physically active, and always feels tired. Through specific questions, the nurse practitioner discovers that Mr. Dee has experienced a change in his sleep patterns and nutritional intake. He is sleeping for shorter periods and eating less. She also learns that Mr. Dee’s wife smokes, and that they have indoor cats for pets. He does not think that his wife will be amenable to changing her habits or getting rid of the cats. During this appraisal, the nurse seeks to discover what is important to Mr. Dee and how he defines healthy.

Mutual patterning involves sharing knowledge and offering choices. Upon completion of the appraisal, the nurse summarizes what she has been told and how she understands it. In this way, the nurse and the client can reach consensus about what activities would be acceptable to Mr. Dee. Ms. Gee provides information about the disease and suggestions that will increase his comfort. Noninvasive interventions include breathing retraining, recommendations for a high-protein high-calorie diet, eating smaller meals more frequently, sleeping with the head elevated, and using progressive relaxation exercises at bedtime. The nurse recommends that the Dees buy a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter and humidifier to assist in removing environmental pollutants and maintaining proper humidity in the home.

Because Mr. Gee has expressed a desire to quit smoking, the nurse suggests that he use forms of centering, such as guided imagery and meditation, to supplement the nicotine patches prescribed by his physician. She also provides him with written material about the disease that he can share with his wife. At the end of the visit, Mr. Dee states that he feels better knowing that he has the power to change some things about his life.

Critical thinking activities

1. Review two published research articles with Rogerian science as the framework guiding the research process. Identify the middle-range theory that was developed or guided the research process in each of the articles.

2. What is the nature of the evidence generated by research of the middle-range theory in critical thinking activity 1?

3. What philosophical tenets from Nightingale contributed to the basis for development of the Rogerian conceptual model?

4. Locate three publications and discuss how the authors used Rogerian science in nursing education.

5. Analyze your clinical practice, and identify areas in which practice based on Rogerian science would improve nursing care. Enumerate the changes and the anticipated positive outcomes.

Assessment 4: 6030

  • Develop a 4–6-page plan that will allow your intervention to be implemented in your target population and setting.

Note: Each assessment in this course builds on the work you completed in the previous assessment. Therefore, you must complete the assessments in this course in the order in which they are presented.

  • Assessment Instructions
  • Instructions
Note: The assessments in this course are sequenced in such a way as to help you build specific skills that you will use throughout your program. Complete the assessments in the order in which they are presented.
Your implementation plan design will be the third section of your final project submission. The goal for this is to design a plan that will allow your intervention to be implemented in your target population and setting. You should be able to preserve the quality improvement outcomes that you designed for your target population and setting while also ensuring that the intervention does not put undue stress on the health care setting’s resources or violate any policies or regulations. Provide enough detail so that the faculty member assessing your implementation plan design will be able to provide substantive feedback that you will be able to incorporate into the final draft of your project.
At minimum, be sure to address the bullet points below, as they correspond to the grading criteria. You may also want to read the scoring guide and the Guiding Questions: Implementation Plan Design document (linked in the Resources) to better understand how each criterion will be assessed. In addition to the bullet points below, provide a brief introduction that refreshes the reader’s memory about your problem statement, as well as the setting and context for which this intervention plan was designed before launching into your implementation plan.
Reminder: these instructions are an outline. Your heading for this this section should be Management and Leadership and not Part 1: Management and Leadership.
    Part 1: Management and Leadership

    • Propose strategies for leading, managing, and implementing professional nursing practices to ensure interprofessional collaboration during the implementation of an intervention plan.
    • Analyze the implications of change associated with proposed strategies for improving the quality and experience of care while controlling costs.
    • Part 2: Delivery and Technology
    • Propose appropriate delivery methods to implement an intervention which will improve the quality of the project.
    • Evaluate the current and emerging technological options related to the proposed delivery methods.
    • Part 3: Stakeholders, Policy, and Regulations
    • Analyze stakeholders, regulatory implications, and potential support that could impact the implementation of an intervention plan.
    • Propose existing or new policy considerations that would support the implementation of an intervention plan.
    • Part 4: Timeline
    • Propose a timeline to implement an intervention plan with reference to specific factors that influence the timing of implementation.
    • Address Generally Throughout
    • Integrate resources from diverse sources that illustrate support for all aspects of an implementation plan for a planned intervention.
    • Communicate implementation plan in a way that clearly illustrate the importance of interprofessional collaboration to create buy-in from the audience.
    • Length of submission: 4–6 pages, double spaced.
    • Number of resources: Minimum of 3–6 resources. (Your final project will require 12–18 unique resources.)
    • Written communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
    • APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to current APA style. Header formatting follows current APA levels.
    • Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.

SRS1

Normally you gather requirements through interviews and reviews with stakeholders.  From these interviews and reviews you gain an understanding of what the software needs to do.  Then you clearly, unambiguously document it in a requirements format.  It is a little hard in a classroom setting to provide stakeholders.  So in this exercise you will be provided a finished software product.  You can learn how the software works.  This will allow you to gain an understanding of what the software does.  From this you will document the requirements using Use Case Diagrams and Textural Use Cases.

The purpose of this exercise is to get you accustomed to the various Use Case Diagrams and techniques. You may pick any software that you like, as long as you can show your excellence and command using features of that software. You don’t have to document all the features of that software, but you must have one type of Use Case Diagram describing the feature.

Due to time limits you will not be able to create a full requirement document for the software.  Doing so would take years to complete.  Pick a subset of features; hopefully you can pick a subset that has something in common.  Your requirement document must have at least 8 Textual Use Cases and a Use Case diagram that includes the Use Cases.

We suggest picking feature-rich software that is also readily available to others. Examples include MS Word, MS Excel, Open Office, Google Web Search, Google Maps, GMailUberFacebookGnuCash, or a web browser.  Of course, you may pick something not on this list. In order to best prepare you for what’s coming, I suggest that you use a product with more than one user involved (underlined in the list).

You may use screenshots of the software to help me understand the feature you are describing.

There is a template attached that you may wish to use for this exercise.

Due today in 10 hours…… please read first…. sociology

this assignment is due today in 10 hours….. must have done in 10 hours……

read or glance through chapters 8 and 9 in the attachment book

do the following:

Each weekly journal will be 1-2 pages and will include 2 sources in the media that relate to the reading that week. The purpose of this assignment, which will continue throughout the semester, is to encourage you to think in a sociological manner and learn to apply sociology and social problems theory to events in everyday life. You should learn to integrate the ideas we discuss in class and start to regard aspects of society critically. Each journal entry should be dated, typed, single-spaced and include citations.

For each journal entry you should include the following: Choose 1 or more concepts or themes from the chapters.

Define the concept or theme in your own words.

Locate 2 items in the media (e.g., news source, journal or magazine article, working paper, video, television show, or blog) that link to the concept/theme. Summarize the connection or the significance of each source to the concept/theme from the textbook.

Critical analysis (you may consider the following questions: how is the social problem is being framed [person vs. structure blame]; are there any solutions proposed and by whom; is there anything not considered in the source that should be; does the information in the source contradict the text; etc.).

Bibliographic information about the source (e.g., title, author, publication).Your entries should be critical and academically enlightening. They also should reflect a sociological perspective. You should provide evidence from the material you are analyzing to support your ideas and have some connection to the text. These journals are not formal essays, but they should still follow an organizational structure. Therefore, they should contain an introductory paragraph, a body consisting of two to three paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph.  Since you will be using course content and outside sources, you will need to cite the source of your information.  Please use the American Psychological Association (APA) formatting.

Use chapters 8 and 9 in the attachment to complete. choose 1 or more concepts to complete the assignment and must be thorough. Do all requirements

WEEK 4 _DISCUSSION

Post a total of 3 substantive responses over 2 separate days for full participation. This includes your initial post and 2 replies to other students or your faculty member.

Due Day 3

Hypothesis testing is used in business to test assumptions and theories. These assumptions are tested against evidence provided by actual, observed data. A statistical hypothesis is a statement about the value of a population parameter that we are interested in. Hypothesis testing is a process followed to arrive at a decision between 2 competing, mutually exclusive, collective exhaustive statements about the parameter’s value.

Consider the following scenario: An industrial seller of grass seeds packages its product in 50-pound bags. A customer has recently filed a complained alleging that the bags are underfilled. A production manager randomly samples a batch and measures the following weights:

Weight, (lbs)

45.6     49.5

47.7     46.7

47.6     48.8

50.5     48.6

50.2     51.5

46.9     50.2

47.8     49.9

49.3     49.8

53.1     49.3

49.5     50.1

To determine whether the bags are indeed being underfilled by the machinery, the manager must conduct a test of mean with a significance level α = 0.05.

In a minimum of 175 words, respond to the following:

  • State appropriate null (Ho) and alternative (H1) hypotheses.
  • What is the critical value if we work with a significant level α = 0.05?
  • What is the decision rule?
  • Calculate the test statistic.
  • Are the bags indeed being underfilled?
  • Should machinery be recalibrated?

HRM634 Week 3 Response with Reference

Each one needs a response with a reference

Lauren Williams

1. Job Analysis is fundamental to the staffing and planning. Which method of job analysis would you recommend, and why?

The two traditional forms of job analysis are inductive and deductive (Peterson & Jeanneret, 2007). The 5 methods discussed in our text are: Critical Incidents, Job Elements, Structured Interview, Task Inventory, and Structured Questionnaire. To determine the best combination of job analysis techniques, it is important to identify the nature of the resources and expertise the firm has available. I chose two different techniques to utilize, Critical Incidents and Structured Interview (Phillips, 2020).

The critical incidents method is a job analysis method by which important job tasks are identified for job success. Critical job tasks are those important duties and job responsibilities performed by the jobholder that lead to job success. Information about critical job tasks can be collected through interviews with employees or managers or through self-report statements written by employees. The Job Analysis Interview: method to collect a variety of information from an incumbent by asking the incumbent to describe the tasks and duties performed (HR-Guide, 2015).

“This study found that job analysis methods are perceived as differentially effective for various human resources purpose, and as differentially practical Although the amount of variance explained in the ratings by job analysis methods is not large, neither is it inconsequential” (Levine et al., 1983). Therefore, I recommend using a combination of job analysis methods to resolve any discrepancies which might occur between different techniques.

 2. What would you do if you and a supervisor do not agree on the importance of various job duties/tasks during job analysis? How would you resolve it?

This can be a common occurrence between an employee and their supervisor as they might not see eye to eye on the priority of job duties. It is important to resolve the disagreement in a professional and respectful manner. The employee should feel valued in the discussion and have their voice heard as they are the one responsible for the job duties/tasks being evaluated. I believe it is important to have a conversation between the supervisor and the employee to discuss the areas of discrepancy.

The weights for each job duty’s relative importance are used to identify the essential qualifications of new hires and to prioritize the characteristics that will be recruited and screened for in the future (Phillips, 2020).

Being able to voice your concerns and have a constructive conversation between supervisor and employee is key to having a successful working relationship. In many instances, voice has been associated with overall team effectiveness as well as specific team indicators (Li & Tangirala, 2021).

https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/436947

Word Count: A minimum of 750 words, not including images and citations

What to do:

Once your chosen images have been approved, you may begin writing your paper.

Research and Observation:

Find 4 credible sources of information to research your objects. You may use the museum’s catalog entry as one source but you will need 3 additional, scholarly sources. DO NOT use Wikipedia, personal blogs, or random websites. The best sources are museums websites, auction houses, and books (remember books…those fossils found in the library). Only credible sources are permitted. Make sure you know who the author is. This website is an example of a source that looks legit but is not credible. No author information is available. If the author isn’t a scholar, museum curator, fine art specialist, etc. don’t use the source.

Format: Place images of your chosen works at the top of your paper along with your name, date, and names of the two works of art and the artists (if known), as well as the Met’s accession number.

This is a formal paper and must be formatted as such. Begin your paper with a formal introduction. Next, the body should discuss similarities/differences between the images including the analysis of each object. Lastly, your conclusion should summarize your writing and restate your main idea.

All papers must be double-spaced.

You must bold and highlight each key term used.

ANY direct quotes or paraphrases must be in quotations and properly cited to avoid any plagiarism issues. You must include footnotes and bibliography. For further assistance regarding citations, refer to the Purdue OWL as a guide for citing in the Chicago Manual Style.

If you submit a paper without citations or citations in the wrong format, you will receive a zero. No exceptions!

The following is worth 6 points in total: (view rubric for specific point value breakdown)

  1. Indicate title, culture, artist (if known) and date of each of the two works of art by two different artists.
  2. Subject: What is depicted?
  3. Content: What does the artwork mean?
  4. Context: Write about the culture or artist’s life that relates to your work?
  5. Style: Describe the identifying appearance of your work using at least 5 style terms from your glossary?
  6. Medium: Indicate medium and technique. Discuss how the medium is used both each work.
  7. Formal Analysis: Use 5 different formal terms from your glossary to describe each of the two works.
  8. Summarize how the two works of art are Similar (Comparison) and Different (Contrast) using the 5 terms from your Formal Analysis.
  9. Grammar and proper usage of the language of art.

** Papers submitted without 4 scholarly sources cited or without a bibliography will receive a zero. If you submit an incomplete paper, it will not be accepted and a zero will be issued.**

Module 04: Resources and Capabilities

This week, our discussion thread is centered on the resource-based view (RBV) of the firm and clarifying capabilities. Select a Saudi Arabian company with which you are familiar and reinforce the approach to resource and capability analysis by appraising the strategic worth of key resources and capabilities using Barney’s VRIO (Valuable, Rare, Imitable, Organization) Framework (See Strategy Capsule 5.6).

  1. Identify three key resources and/or capabilities of the company.
    1. Vet each of the three against the VRIO (Valuable, Rare, Imitable, Organization) Framework.
    2. Explain each resource/capability’s score given the VRIO rubric. For instance, does the resource/capability impart sufficient value, is the resource/capability rare, etc.
    3. What is the likely competitive outcome for each resource/capability? That is, given its VRIO score is it likely to impart a sustainable competitive advantage, a temporary competitive advantage, competitive parity, or competitive disadvantage?
    4. Make recommendations to the firm’s management as to which of the resources/capabilities you have identified should be invested (built up), divested and/or which additional resources should be acquired to supplement/leverage existing resources/capabilities.
  2. In your response to student posts, focus on the viability of the suggestions made by other students: To which degree do these suggestions make sense regarding the possibility of gaining a sustainable competitive advantage?

Embed course material concepts, principles, and theories (require supporting citations) in your initial response along with at least one scholarly, peer-reviewed journal article. Keep in mind that these scholarly references can be found in the Saudi Digital Library by conducting an advanced search specific to scholarly references. Use Saudi Electronic University academic writing standards and APA style guidelines.

You are required to reply to at least two peer discussion question post answers to this weekly discussion question and/or your instructor’s response to your posting. These post replies need to be substantial and constructive in nature. They should add to the content of the post and evaluate/analyze that post answer. Normal course dialogue doesn’t fulfill these two peer replies but is expected throughout the course. Answering all course questions is also required.

Java homework

Deadline today 3hr … 11:50

my last name start with C…

For this homework you are going to write a program to read in values for a small business that starts with the first letter of your last name. So if your last name is Gonzalez, you can write a program for a Grocery Store.

You will need to read in one integer value, one boolean value, one decimal value and one String value. Use a Scanner to read in the data. Based on the data you read in, use a series of if, else if, else if, else to determine the price of the product or service depending on what the user entered in to the program.

You will create a class based on the type of product or service you are offering that will keep track of the integer, boolean, decimal, and String.

CLASS WORTH 20 points

For example, you let’s say your last name is Fernandez and you chose a flower shop:

“Enter the number of flowers desired:”

4

“Enter if you want a vase:”

true

“Enter your address:”

123 Fake Street

“Enter your local tax rate as a percent:”

6.5

INPUT WORTH 30 points.

OUTPUT TO THE SCREEN:

“YOUR FLOWER ORDER WILL BE $19.99”

After displaying the output for the product (price will depend on the type of business you select based on your last name), you will save the entire order in a file called output.txt using a PrintWriter.

OUTPUT WORTH 30 points.

SAVING DATA WORTH 20 points.

Your code must be unique and based on the business selected and related to your name. Submit your code here.

SUBMISSION: Upload a single .java file. No Word, text or other files will be considered.
