Research Paper Draft Assessment

Instructions

Creation of a draft academic paper.

  •  Complete a draft of a 2000 words, properly APA
  • You may be able to adapt the research used for the annotated bibliography in this paper.

In addition to the three required sections of this paper, your draft should ALSO include the following:

  • An APA title page
  • Well written introduction and conclusion sections
  • An APA reference page

Note: Your course text The College Writer provides a detailed description of the formatting requirements for this assignment. In addition, you can use the OWL site for additional information on these requirements:

The most common question for this research project is, “How many references should I have?” There is no rule.  However, you ought to think about the sections of your paper. That should guide your thinking on the amount of research needed.

  1. Section 1 – Of course you have the Mooz text and is an excellent expert reference.  Mooz is not the only expert with an opinion on what constitutes “good decision making.” Therefore, you would probably consult one or two others so that you can formulate your definition and defend it with the research you conducted.
  2. Section 2 – Here is where you discuss the life-changing decision you made and how you went about making it.  Also, you will tell the outcome and evaluate what might have made your decision better, based on your definition in Section 1. Since this is your story, very little new research, if any, would be expected. However, your evaluation of what might have been better or why your decision was so good, would be supported again by the experts you cited in section 1.
  3. Section 3 – This is an area that would have a significant level of research. You should easily find 4 –67 good expert articles that would help someone to reach a good decision if they faced the same decision you made.  Remember: This is the area that needs to add value to the reader so that they believe that they have all of the good information they need to make a wise decision if they were faced with the same life-altering event you faced.

Upload your completed assignment. Your instructor will evaluate this draft and return it to you with comments in Module 6. The final submission of this paper will be in Module 7.

Hospice Discussion

For this discussion I want you to Google at least 2 Hospice care facilities and compare the services. What is the same?  What is different? Provide at least one good paragraph and be sure to check your work for spelling and grammatical errors.

Respond to 2 other student’s posts.  Your responses should be at least a paragraph and not just “I agree”.  Points will be deducted for limited work.

1- the first student response

St. Joseph Hospice helps patients feel right at home, no matter what stage of illness they are in. They provide every patient with a team of healthcare professionals who work together with the patient to meet their needs for care. They bring comfort and supportive care to patients wherever they call home. Senior living communities, assisted living, nursing care facilities and their own hospice care homes.

Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge also have their own nursing homes and also provide services at patient homes. They provide support and care for patients in their last phases of incurable illness. They also provide freestanding hospice centers, hospitals and other long term care facilities.

2- the second student response

ridgeway Hospice can bring care to almost anywhere the client is. They will provide care to those in assisted or independent living, at home, in inpatient care, and nursing homes. Bridgeway Hospice also provides palliative care to cope with the symptoms of stress and illness. They also have a volunteer program to help the client with errands, picking up groceries, etc. along with a grief support program to assist the client’s family and friends in coping with their loss. Lastly, they have a memory bear program in which the volunteers will create bears using the deceased patient’s clothing to preserve memories.

St. Joseph Hospice provides care in all the same places as Bridgeway. They also have their own hospice care homes. They emphasize their strong team of healthcare providers. St. Joseph Hospice doesn’t seem to have as many programs as Bridgeway to assist the families of the client. This may make Bridgeway the better option.

Discuss how the skills you have learned apply to areas of your life beyond film and how they could impact your future career. Your reflection should be personal and exploratory in nature.

Address the following questions in your reflection:

  • What can be gained through analyzing film?
  • How has this changed the way you view movies?
  • How are you able to use film theory and criticism to find and interpret meaning in movies?

Compensation and Benefits

  • Write a 3–5-page compensation and benefits package for a new expatriate position working for either Java Corp. or an organization you are familiar with.
Structuring and communicating a total compensation package that meets regulatory requirements and the needs of a global workforce requires a delicate balancing act between what is required and what will contribute to an effective relationship between employer, employee, and the community or country in which the company operates. Communicating benefits programs to employees can be as important as the benefits themselves. Knowing how to leverage all available compensation options is a necessary skill for any HR professional.

Assignment: Evidence-Based Practice Implementation—Anticipating Results-6311-wk1A

Many social workers attempt to implement an evidence-based practice that seems to be strongly supported by research, only to become frustrated or confused when their efforts do not yield the same positive results as the research. This discrepancy can occur because they failed to recognize the differences between conditions in their practice environment and the conditions of the study. Moreover, they may have failed to consider and adequately plan for issues that arise during implementation.

To prepare for this Assignment, using the resources for evidence-based practices, identify an evidence-based practice that may be applicable to your field of practice. Review two research articles demonstrating the effectiveness of the evidence-based practice. Note any similarities or differences between the conditions in which the evidence-based practice was implemented in the study and the conditions in which you plan to implement it.

Submit a 4- to 5-page paper that analyzes the implementation of the evidence-based practice in your field of practice to determine if you can expect similar results to the research. The paper should include the following:

  • A description of the evidence-based practice that you selected including:
    • The population for which the evidence-based practice is intended
    • The problems for which the evidence-based practice is intended to address
    • A summary of the evidence from the research articles that demonstrate the evidence-based practice’s effectiveness
  • An explanation of any differences between the conditions of the study and the conditions on your practice. Explain the potential impact these differences could have on successful implementation.
  • A description of the steps that would be required to implement the evidence-based practice including:
    • Any factors that would support each step and how you would leverage them
    • Any factors that would limit or hinder each step and how you would mitigate them
  • A conclusion that includes:
    • Anticipated results of the implementation in your practice setting
    • An explanation of whether they will be similar or different from the research results from the articles

  • The presentation will be five minutes long.
  • You will use a minimum of four academic sources to inform your research.
  • You will have a minimum of five slides that include the following
  • Introduction of topic and region.
  • Discussion of topic 2-3 slides.
  • Why or why not is the study of history important to becoming informed citizens?
  • How can understanding the motivations behind past cultures help us understand world events today?
