Topic for this assignment: Plant Adaptations Tropical
This project is designed to help you get out of the classroom (or online, in our case!) to discover the physical processes that have shaped Southern California. For this assignment you will be completing a “photo essay” that demonstrate your knowledge and discovery of physical geography in SoCal. For your photo essay you will take a photo that demonstrates or is an example of one of the topics listed below and provide a written analysis of the process and how it is related to your photo.
Include a detailed explanation of the topic that you have chosen to discuss. https://bestofassignment.com/religion-theology-theology/women-in-all-cultures-since-god-first-created-eve-have-had-opportunities-to-mini/ For example, if you chose cloud formation – you would discuss all of the factors necessary for clouds to form and you might also talk about the different ways that clouds are able to form in the atmosphere. Properly explaining the concept/process in this essay will give you the highest number of points.
2. Include an analysis of the landscape specific to your photo. You should be identifying specific landforms or topics and explaining how the process you’re discussing has shaped what is in your photo. For example, if you were discussing clouds, you might explain to me what conditions outside allowed the cloud to form in that particular location. https://homeworkhelpersblog.com/network-security/ The analysis portion of your essay is worth the most points because it shows me that you can apply the information you’re learning to a real-world situation.

Unit 4 – Assigment 6: Interpretation of Orientations to Learning

Unit 4 – Assigment  6: Interpretation of Orientations to Learning

Objectives:

After reading/viewing the learning activities and completing Assignment 6, the Interpretation of Orientations to Learning, you should be able to:

·         Explain the essential assumptions, conceptions, and principles of several schools of learning and development theory.

·         Explain and express how the major theories of learning and development intersect and contrast with each other.

·         Describe how adults develop throughout their lifespan.

·         Explain and discuss two theories of learning with an indepth knowledge, as well as your own views on the teaching or learning process.

Overview:

Most contemporary adult educators agree that the primary outcome of learning is change, whether that change occurs in thinking and/or behavior. However, the theories that underlie what happens when such learning takes place are numerous and often contradictory. This is because no single theory can adequately explain the incredible diversity of human learning and development. Fortunately, Merriam, Caffarella and Baumgartner (2007) tackle these complexities in Learning in adulthood: A comprehensive guide (3rd Edition) by providing an historical account of the major schools of learning theory, beginning with behaviorist perspectives and describing humanist, cognitivist, social cognitive and finally constructivist orientations to learning. As the authors note, all of these classifications of learning theory are still functioning in contemporary adult learning and they remain just as contradictory today.

Throughout chapter 11, Merriam, Caffarella and Baumgartner (2007) interpret the 5 orientations to learning according to a list of aspects and conclude with a concise summary table 11.1 on pages 295-296. In chapter 12, the authors build on the 5 traditional models of learning by applying concepts of development over the lifespan with respect to biological, psychological, identity development and sociocultural factors. Both chapters provide information that can assist you in completing assignment 6.

Components of the Assignment:

In this assignment, you will select two of the learning theory orientations (behaviorist, humanist, cognitivist, social cognitive and constructivist) found in chapter 11 and interpret them according to the aspects provided in table 11.1. You may compare and contrast the two orientations, or apply any other interpretive tools you wish. Addressing the instructor’s role aspect is optional. You may substitute your thoughts on the learner’s role if you feel unprepared to discuss being an instructor. Refer to the readings and learning tools you have been exposed to throughout the course so far. For example, the discussion of experience found in chapter 7 can be applied to constructivist views of the learning process. Use both the authors and the subject indices found at the end of the textbook to relocate this information efficiently. You may also access secondary sources of information, including scholarly articles and websites. In addition, discuss at least one personal example that illustrates a learning theory or an aspect of adult development. This example can be a recent event in your life or could have occurred long ago.

Provide a brief introduction and conclusion along with your interpretation. Write a substantive (500-600 words, double spaced, 12 font, 1 margins) document. Create your document in a word processing program (eg. Word), and use the word count tool to calculate how long your assignment is. Provide citations in the text and reference list at the end of your posting using APA (5th or 6th ed.) style. Submit this assignment by uploading it to the Drop Box. This assignment is worth 15% of your total grade. Please refer to the rubric (marking guide) below along with the Learning Objectives.

To prepare for this Assignment, choose a publicly-traded company, and then estimate your company’s common stock price, using one of the valuation models presented in the assigned readings or outside readings.

(If you want to analyze a dividend paying company, you can find a robust listed in attachment.

In addition, here is a template you will find to be useful for the assignment. It matches the examples given in the textbook on stock valuation models in Chapter 9: Stock Models (Excel workbook) .

Defend your choice of model, and explain why it is appropriate to use for your company’s stock. Be sure to explain how you arrived at any assumptions regarding values used in the model. Determine whether your company appears to be correctly valued, overvalued, or undervalued based on your company’s stock current price and model result. Check Yahoo Finance for current stock prices. Finally, explain why your company’s stock appears to be over-, under-, or correctly valued.

typically be 2–3 pages in length as a general expectation/estimate. Rubric listed below (1-5).

1.  Student uses Excel spreadsheet, and the formulas and calculations are correct.

2. Student provides a cogent explanation defending his/her choice of model, why it is appropriate to use for the chosen stock, and how he/she determined any assumptions on the values used in the model, including why the assumptions were required. Assumptions used for model inputs are evidenced-based and sources and/or use of estimation techniques based on historical data support explanation.

3.  Student provides a thorough and detailed analysis comparing his/her chosen model with other potential models that could have been used in the analysis.

4.  Student provides a thorough and detailed assessment of whether the chosen company appears to be correctly valued, overvalued, or undervalued based on the company’s stock current price and model result, and explains the implications of his/her conclusions. Student correctly determines the current prices of the stock and cites the sources of the price data.

5.  Student provides a thorough and detailed assessment explaining the reasons why the company’s stock appears to be over-, under-, or correctly valued and provides rationales that are evidenced-based, uses model’s estimation inaccuracies/weaknesses and the stock’s current price in reasons given, and are beyond personal opinion.

Benchmark – ELA Unit Plan

Special educators must be able to effectively plan for students at all ages and abilities, using data and anecdotal information. An effective plan takes into consideration a student’s developmental level, age, strengths, needs, learning preferences, culture, and interests. Interventions that are well planned for students and are based on these factors are far more effective than interventions that narrowly focus only on the student’s academic skill deficiencies.

In this assignment, practice developing ELA instruction that is appropriate for the students described in the “Class Profile” by designing a comprehensive ELA unit plan using the “5-Day Unit Plan Template.”

Part 1: Unit Plan

Develop a 5-day unit plan that integrates vocabulary, reading, grammar, writing, listening and speaking, and technology, for the “Class Profile” students, choosing either the resource or self-contained learning environment. In a typical resource or self-contained learning environment the teacher would differentiate for every student. For this assignment, choose three students for whom you will differentiate the instruction. Align your unit to a 6-12 grade level ELA standard from the Arizona or another state academic content standards.

Design the unit plan to include:

  • National/State Learning Standards: Select standards that address reading, writing, speaking, and listening integration skills.
  • Multiple Means of Representation: Select strategies that allow opportunities to develop oral and written language for students with disabilities. Incorporate individual abilities, interests, learning environments, and cultural and linguistic factors in the section.
  • Multiple Means of Engagement: Select strategies to enhance language development and communication skills.
  • Multiple Means of Expression: Use technically sound formal and informal assessment.
  • Extension Activity and/or Homework: Incorporate activities that include critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • In the Differentiation rows of the unit plan template focus on the three students you selected.

Part 2: Rationale

In 250-500 words rationale at the bottom of your unit plan, explain the following:

  • How literacy skills from your lesson plan will be helpful for students in other content areas.
  • How communication and language arts strategies prepare students and provide them strategies to be successful academically and personally across multiple settings with a variety of collaborators (e.g., individuals, families, and teams).

Support your findings with a minimum of three scholarly resources.

While APA format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

This assignment uses a rubric. Review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. A link to the LopesWrite technical support articles is located in Course Materials if you need assistance.

Nubbles and Rudge decide to rob the Tight Fist Bank

THE THREE QUESTIONS SHOULD BE 400-500 WORD EACH AND PLEASE USE CITATIONS AND DO NOT COPY AND PASTE (NO PLAGIARISM)

1. Nubbles and Rudge decide to rob the Tight Fist Bank. They make elaborate plans and purchase some firearms to assist them in their venture. On the appointed day, they drive to a street corner just one block away from the bank; they intend to observe the bank for a while and then undertake the robbery at the most appropriate moment.  However, a police cruiser passes by and the two officers notice that Nubble and Rudge look suspicious.  The officers arrest the would-be bandits when they find two sawed-off shotguns and two masks on the back seat of the car.  Nubbles and Rudge are subsequently charged with attempted robbery.  Are they guilty of this offence?

Discuss the potential criminal liability, if any, of each person mentioned.   Identify, define, and describe relevant concepts and issues.

State any assumptions you may need to make to analyze the issues. In your response, consider course materials, case law, legislation, any contributions to the optional discussion forums, and any other resources you consider relevant.

2. Cruncher and Slammer are professional hockey players who are playing on opposing teams. As Cruncher is carrying the puck, Slammer pushes him into the boards along the side of the hockey rink. An altercation develops between them, and some punches are thrown.  The referee whistles play dead, and after a brief period, the linesmen separate Cruncher and Slammer and lead them toward their respective penalty boxes.  However, Cruncher breaks free from his accompanying linesman and skates up to Slammer and punches him in the eye – to the delight of the local fans. Cruncher is 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 280 pounds. Slammer is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. The blow inflicted by Cruncher opens a deep cut underneath Slammer’s eye and numerous stitches are required to close the wound. Cruncher is charged with assault causing bodily harm.  Does cruncher have any defence(s)?

In addition to the question posed above, please discuss the Instructor’s addition to the fact pattern as follows:

Mandy was sitting in the audience at the hockey rink. She was so distressed and upset by seeing Slammer injured, with all the blood on the ice, that she became dazed and disoriented. She grabbed her umbrella and repeatedly hit a nearby woman on the head with it, injuring her. Several hockey fans had to intervene to stop Mandy from hitting the woman, and they would later tell the police that Mandy had a blank look, and did not seem to be normal.

3. A federal politician, Ronald Thump, has recently announced that the Canadian government will amend the criminal law to reduce the number of defences available to accused persons. In particular, the government intends to completely eliminate the defence of necessity or duress.

“With one of these defences eliminated, there will be cost savings in the criminal justice system.  Canada has far too many defences available to accused persons, resulting in court delays and increased costs,” Mr. Thump stated. “One of these defences has got to go.  The public is confused about these two defences, and too many criminals are getting off on these technicalities.”

Mr. Thump has asked you, his Special Advisor, to prepare an opinion for him on which defence to eliminate:  necessity or duress. He wants a clear Recommendation from you, with reasons for your choice.

In your opinion, you must describe both defences in detail and provide examples.
