    • SWOT Word Template [DOCX].
    • For more information on how to conduct a SWOT Analysis, you may want to watch the video, Conducting a SWOT Analysis.
Be sure you SWOT Analysis includes each of the following:
      Step 1: Strengths
First, identity one or two major competitors. Next, consider what does the company/product do better than (or at least equivalent to) the competition. This could be:
    • Specific product attribute advantage.
    • Brand perceived value.
    • Customer service of company.
    • Step 2: Weaknesses
What does the company/product do that is not as good as the competition? How is this going to affect your customer’s sales?
Thought needs to be given to how you can compensate for, or overcome these issues. What is the cost of overcoming these issues?
Is it necessary to overcome the issues or are they something you can accept and deal with?
      Step 3: Opportunities
What area of the market could you enter with some modifications to the product/service or company? The main elements here could include:
    • Change size, shape, or color.
    • Additional services.
    • New packaging.
    • Different distribution points.
    • New promotional focus.
    • Step 4: Threats

    • Major product failure.
    • Reduction in promotional spend.
    • Customer changes.
    • Changes in the market.

Describe measures that you would take as a nurse to assist clients with health promotion measures to incorporate exercise and physical activity into their lives. Include the kind of activities you would recommend, the amount of exercise,

  4 DQ 2

To sustain a balanced lifestyle, exercise is an essential part of daily life. People who do not remain healthy and exercise on a regular basis are more likely to develop cardiovascular diseases such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, heart disease, high cholesterol, cancer, depression, anxiety, and dementia.

Diabetes and cardiovascular disease are two of the most common risky diseases that affect mainly middle-aged Americans today. To begin with, heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States for men, women, and individuals of most racial and ethnic groups. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases account for one out of every three deaths in the United States. Cardiovascular disorders claim the lives of one human every 36 seconds in the United States. Second, more than 34 million Americans have diabetes, with one of every four of them being unaware of their condition.

Physical activity is beneficial to diabetics because it renders the body more receptive to insulin management. Both physical activity aids in the regulation of blood sugar levels, as well as the prevention of nerve injury and heart disease. Nurses must remind patients to check their blood sugar levels before, after, and after physical exercise. Clients can eat a healthy snack comprising 15 to 30 grams of carbohydrates if their blood sugar is low until exercising. Blood sugar levels above 240 mg/dl could be too high to reliably engage in physical activity.

The CDC recommends 150 minutes of low intensity physical activity a week, such as exercising, playing sports, or doing housework. To gain the client’s confidence, the nurse does not push exercise on them, but rather advise them to take it slowly and start small. The client should be encouraged to choose an enjoyable exercise, choose a partner, commit to a goal, and schedule workouts during the week. Another piece of advice that nurses should give their patients is to take the stairs rather than the elevator, park farther away from the supermarket, and do jumping jacks during commercial breaks.

Respond by using 200-300 words APA format with references supporting the discussion.

For the middle-aged adult, exercise can reduce the risk of various health problems. Choose two at-risk health issues that regular physical exercise and activity can help prevent and manage. Discuss the prevalence of each of these health problems in society today. Describe measures that you would take as a nurse to assist clients with health promotion measures to incorporate exercise and physical activity into their lives. Include the kind of activities you would recommend, the amount of exercise, and the approach you would use to gain cooperation from the client. Support your response with evidence-based literature.

Assignment 2: Combining Content, Argument, and Structure—The Workshop

Assignment 2: Combining Content, Argument, and Structure—The Workshop

The workplace has become increasingly diverse and global. This diversity has dramatically changed the dynamic of the workplace over the last 50 years. Regardless of race, ethnicity, and gender, people want to be treated fairly.

Research workplace harassment using the following resources:

Suppose you work for an organization that currently does not have an antiharassment policy. You are going to develop an antiharassment policy for the organization and persuade the CEO to adopt it. Create a PowerPoint presentation to convince the CEO of the need for such a policy. Use the speaker notes area to write explanations and arguments and to cite sources. Address the following in your presentation:

  1. What is the purpose of your proposed antiharassment policy?
  2. Why would implementing this policy be beneficial for the CEO? What’s in it for him or her?
  3. Why is it important to have such a policy in place? If the basic purpose is to stop harassing behavior, why is that important? Why is harassment detrimental to an organization?
  4. What is your communication plan? How should the CEO present the policy to the staff? What specific communication methods do you recommend, and what will the communication say?

Develop an eight- to ten-slide presentation in PowerPoint format. Apply APA standards where appropriate for references. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M2_A2.ppt.

Structural and Cultural Violence

 What’s required is the following:
1.Look around with a critical eye to spot instances of structural and/or cultural violence(anywhere)
.
2.Analyze the instance by:
a. Outlining the problem you’ve identified as an example of S/CV.
b.Identify the elements that you think make it fit in our definition of S/CV.
c.Identify the perpetrators and victims.
d.Say something by way of a background to the problem (how did it come to be and how it has evolved over the years.
e.Discuss the (possible) consequences that have attended (could attend) the injustice identified on the victims and society.
f.Tell us how the injustice can be remedied, if at all.
g.Use the style used in the examples below (font, margins, indentation, etc.).

3. Give 4 examples of cultural/structural violence

Definitions:
a.
Structural Violence refers to injustices perpetrated against individuals/groups (human or otherwise) that we can discern in the realm of structures/institutions, rules, or practices. These are process-oriented.
An obvious example would be South Africa’s apartheid system that categorized people based on their ethnicity–a categorization that resulted in the withholding or granting of privileges in society based on ethnicity (and for the native African one that had existential consequences).  Another might be when insurance companies link the academic performance of high school students with insurance rates or when they link insurance rates with one’s credit rating. A third might be “three strikes”
laws in some states.
b.
Cultural Violencerefers to injustices perpetrated against individuals/groups (human or otherwise) that we can discern in the realm of culture/cultural institutions, norms, or religious/social practices. These are a sort of permanent infrastructure, deep infrastructure. As a simple example, consider what happened to holy places and shrines of American Indians since Columbus arrived at the shores of North America.  Consider the debates about the “institution of marriage.”
Consider the “dumb blonde” stereotype.

Here are few examples you can look at to get what kind of paper you’ll be writing

Week 5 Project 5/30

The Nurse as Advocate

In a Microsoft Word document of 5-6 pages formatted in APA style, you will describe the advocacy process. Whether nurses are advocating for their patients, health care, and/or policies that improve people’s lives, the advocacy processes have commonalities that transcend the subject of their advocacy. There are also differences, although these differences may be more nuanced than obvious.

Review the following chapters from your course textbook:

  • Taking Action: Nurse, Educator, and Legislator: My Journey to the Delaware Senate
  • Taking Action: A Nurse in the Board Room

Respond to the following questions based on your readings:

  • Describe what you believe to be the drivers for each of the individual advocates.
    • What factors led the individuals to become advocates?
  • Discuss the challenges that each of the individuals identified in their writings.
  • Analyze these drivers and challenges and compare them with your own experience to date as an advocate.
  • In what ways do you believe you can expand your advocacy skills within the next five years?

On a separate references page, cite all sources using APA format. Helpful APA guides and resources are available. Below are guides that are located in the library and can be accessed and downloaded via the South University Online Citation Resources: APA Style page. The American Psychological Association website also provides detailed guidance on formatting, citations, and references at APA Style.

Please note that the title and reference pages should not be included in the total page count of your paper.

Transplant Tourism Scenario and Reflection

Reflections: Make sure that you are utilizing proper APA format. This includes a title page in the beginning and a reference page at the end. A running head and page number should be on the top of each page. Don’t forget to cite your resources within the text, as well as at the end on your reference page. Make sure that you are reviewing the rubric for the assignment, so that you know what is expected. It is important that you understand what the assignment is asking you to do. Make sure to demonstrate an understanding of the main issues by comparing the different points of views and utilizing supporting evidence. Utilizing outside resources assists in demonstrating a comprehension of the issues that are being discussed. Lastly, be careful of your grammar and wording. Make sure that your writing is clear and is not difficult to understand. The writing center is available to review your paper before submitting so that you can gain the best possible score.

Make sure to answer these questions in your Reflection Papers:

1)What are the key points of contention on this topic?

2)What side of the argument (stance) do you take on this topic?

3)What strong points does the other side of this topic have?

Support bothsides with outside resources

4)What were the three most important things you took away from the topic?

5)Which ethical theory (of the 6 approved ones ONLY – Kant; Act Utilitarianism; Rule Utilitarianism; Care Ethics; Virtue Ethics; and Social Contract) would you apply to this topic to defend your stance? Explain fully. 250 words.

  1. In this reflection you must first define the key terms of the debate (for example, define what Euthanasia/Abortion/Stem Cell/Public Health/PreNatal Testing/Animal Research/Health Care, etc. means and what are the different types depending on which topic you are discussing)
  2. Define and explain the ethical theory you chose (show me you know exactly what the theory is and does – in your own words)
  3. Present the evidence both pro and con and follow up how using your ethical theory is the best way to determine whether or not your stance is really ethical
  4. Conclusion – any final thoughts and opinions would go here

In the scenario assignments below, you are asked to reflect on responses to the presented scenario. It should not just be writing down your first reaction or what you already know.Reflection involves critical thinking, which means rethinking your existing knowledge and previously held opinions in light of what we have learned about theories of ethics, logic, and reasoning. You will need to question your current knowledge and beliefs.Discuss the main points of the debate, what stance you take, support that stance, and discuss the opposing argument. Also discuss an ethical theory that would apply to defend your view.To complete each scenario assignment:

  1. Complete the entire scenario.
  2. Compose your reflection in a Word document and be sure to address, at a minimum, the following questions:
    • Why do you feel the way you do about the issue presented?
    • Of the four responses offered in the scenario, which do you think is the most ethical and why?
  3. Support your conclusions with evidence and specific examples from the textbook, including a minimum of one theory of ethics to defend your stance.
  4. Your reflection must be 1-2 pages in length and follow APA formatting and citation guidelines as appropriate, making sure to cite at least two sources. 4
  5. Review the rubric for specific grading criteria.

THE DEBATES WILL BE POSTED IN THE FILE BELOW******
