Assignment 3 – Healthy Menu — Putting Theory into Practice

1.  Create an original, well-balanced menu for 1 day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks).  Your menu should include at least 25 grams of fiber AND less than 300 milligrams of cholesterol for the entire day.  The menu must:

  • Include accurate portion sizes – For example, 1.5 cups of Cheerios — do not say “1 bowl” or “1 serving”
  • Have realistic amounts and types of foods – would someone actually eat what your menu recommends?
  • Be specific — tell what kind of the product it is, indicate the brand. For example, yogurt can be fat free or whole milk, regular or Greek, with different amounts of sugar or sugar substitutes added. Be specific about the details. Is the coffee black, does it have sugar? What is your oatmeal made with? Is there a sauce or anything else added to the rice? Make sure to include all the details.
  • Have balance and variety – make sure you include adequate amounts from all food groups:  fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy and/or high calcium foods, protein foods (animal and/or vegetable proteins)
  • Identify how many grams of fiber and how many milligrams of cholesterol is in EACH food item.  I suggest you do this in a chart form (see below example and use the attached form).
  • Provide the total grams of fiber and the total milligrams of cholesterol for your entire day’s menu.

Be sure to provide the references you used as your source for the fiber and cholesterol contents of the foods. Note: If you used nutrition information from the product package, indicate this with an asterisk (*).

2.  Reflect whether it was easy to create a menu with the desired amounts of fiber and cholesterol. What were your challenges?

Alternative assignment format:

If you are interested in adding a creative element to this assignment, you have the option of submitting it in a different format.   You may submit the assignment as a PowerPoint presentation that features photos of your recommended meals.

For example, take a picture of each meal that you have created for this assignment, and then list each item in the meal with its portion size and corresponding fiber and cholesterol information. Be sure to include all the required elements listed in the assignment directions, including a final slide with your reference list.

MMGP Post 4 – Original Work Required. Minimum Of 6 Pages Of Content – 24 Hours

Services, Pricing and Distribution (Chapters 14-18)  (TurboTax)

Q5. Discuss possible sources of new product ideas. (Ch. 15)  (TurboTax)

Q6. Discuss the firm’s new product screening process. (Ch. 15)  (TurboTax)

Q7. Discuss the firm’s pricing method or methods. (Ch. 16)  (TurboTax)

Q8. Explain the price adaptations (discounts, promotions, etc.) the firm should use. (Ch. 16)  (TurboTax)

Successful value creation needs successful value delivery. Holistic marketers are increasingly taking a value network view of their businesses. Instead of limiting their focus to their immediate suppliers, distributors, and customers, they are examining the whole supply chain that links raw materials, components, and manufactured goods, which shows how they move toward the final consumers. Companies are looking at their suppliers’ suppliers upstream and at their distributors’ customers downstream. They are looking at customer segments and considering a wide range of different possible means to sell, distribute, and service their offerings.

Instructions:

Each individual assignment must include a title page that has the name of the project topic and the specific questions being addressed, be 6-7 full pages (12-point Times New Roman font, double spaced), and include a separate references page. All content must show direct application to the topic and exclude definitions of terms and general explanations of generic marketing topics.

When completing an assignment for a given module/week, you must view the entire course textbook (all chapters) as a resource for the assignment, meaning it may be necessary to locate assignment-related material in chapters other than those corresponding with the module/week in which the assignment is located. While the effort has been made to ensure that all material necessary for assignment completion is found in the textbook, contact the instructor immediately if information needed to complete the assignment cannot be located in the textbook. The instructor will then provide instructions on locating the required material.

Each of the parts of the Market Management Group Project (MMGP) must follow this format:

  • Discussion of the research
  • Inclusion of corroborating research about the theory      and/or your product
  • Analysis and discussion

Quotes must be minimized and long quotes (40 words or more) avoided. Outside sources to be cited include scholarly marketing journals, practitioner publications, and the course textbook. Assignments must be submitted directly to the Group Discussion Board Forum and contain a Microsoft Word document with the exact same content.

Once the papers are graded and instructor comments are provided, each member will edit his or her paper accordingly.

Module 05 Written Assignment – Ethical Contract and Agreements

It’s time to delve into contract law, at least momentarily. Contracts are integrated into our everyday life whether we realize it or not. If you make a purchase at a store, you are creating a contract for the purchase of said items in return for cash, check or credit. While this may not be a traditional type of contract consisting of a written document that all parties sign, this is nevertheless a contract.

Much the same, we deal with contracts on a day-to-day basis in the business world. But, can everything be contracted? Or are there certain contracts that are void or voidable (hint, hint)?

Write a 2-3 page paper using proper APA formatting. Within this paper you are asked to analyze the types on contracts that are void and voidable as well as why they are forbidden in the business world. Below are some ideas to help get you started:

  • Compare and contrast void and voidable
  • Against public policy
  • One-Sided
  • Minor exception
  • Mental Capacity
  • Illegal Contracts

Submit your completed assignment to the drop box below. Please check the Course Calendar for specific due dates.

Save your assignment as a Microsoft Word document. (Mac users, please remember to append the “.docx” extension to the filename.) The name of the file should be your first initial and last name, followed by an underscore and the name of the assignment, and an underscore and the date. An example is shown below:

Dora

Hello Class and Professor,

I am going to be the stereotypical nursing student here by talking about Grey’s Anatomy. This television show has been airing for 17 seasons. Many shows struggle to maintain approval for further seasons and episodes while this is one that has done so without difficulty. This show proves itself as an art form as it emotionally moves its viewers: as Martin and Jacobus state, “The power of the image to excite a viewer, combined with music and sound, is more and more becoming an intense experience as the technology of the medium develops” (2019, pp. 331). The show emotionally draw’s many in as it expresses a multitude of issues such as health problems, addiction, death of loved ones, racial inequalities.

This show has impacted viewers’ lives as it provides a relation to such issues and shows people they are not alone in their struggles. They advocate for change and improvement in healthcare and overall in public issues. One professor from the University of Illinois performed a study on the impact of Grey’s Anatomy and stated, “the more episodes viewers watched, the more likely they were to perceive the show as credible, and then the more likely they were to perceive the show as credible, the more likely they were to perceive real world doctors as their doctors to be courageous, which that led to patient satisfaction” (2020). The show recently had its focal point for season 17 set on COVID-19 and I myself found the episodes highly realistic. I saw personal protective equipment shortages, healthcare workers struggling with burnout, healthcare workers emotionally processing the constant deaths of their patients: all of these I had dealt with during the COVID outbreak and it moved me. This moved me to know that someone was shining a light on the difficulties we faced every day when we clocked in.

Grey’s Anatomy has been influenced by many real life diseases and occurrences for episodes. The show has shown real diseases ranging anywhere from cancer to Kawasaki’s disease. Some may be rare and some are ever so common. The show has been a major influence for further medical shows to go on and have a fan base to continue seasons. The show has realistic outcomes and not every episode is a happy ending which furthers the connection viewer’s have with the show. When the creator and executive producer was asked about how the show relates to real world diversity, Shonda Rhimes states, “It’s who is telling the stories,” she says, “because the people telling the stories are the people deciding who you see onscreen, they’re the people who are deciding who are in the writers rooms, they’re the people deciding on the crew” (Shonda Rhimes on Raising the Next Generation of TV Producers, 2021).

  • APA format for in-text citations and list of references

Government policy paper 2

Step 4 – The Policy Paper

Prepare a formal research paper regarding the selected policy. The assignment must be between 5-8 pages excluding quotations, cover page, and Works Cited page(s).

The essay should address the following:

  • An introduction and brief overview of the policy topic.
  • What are the major issues facing each level of government?
  • What are the reasons for initiating changes to the policy?
  • What are the options to be considered (discuss several)?
  • What are the pros and cons of each potential reform (costs v. benefits)?
  • Which is the best option moving forward (pick one)?
  • A summary and conclusion

Do not use first person in the proposal or final policy paper!

The paper body must be a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8 full pages in body length, double-spaced. No more and no less is necessary for this activity. Keep direct quotes to a minimum; do not use block quotations. All key arguments, facts, assertions, and claims must be supported with research. The references approved in the policy proposal must be used in the policy paper: you may add additional sources (and should if you seek an A on the assignment), but you must seek approval from the instructor at least 72 hours before the policy paper due date if you intend to change any of the scholarly sources approved in the proposal.

There will be no opportunity to revise and resubmit this assignment. Failure to meet the minimum research and writing requirements will result in a zero for the entire assignment (no partial credit will be awarded as this is a formal institutional assessment). A zero on this assignment will result in a failing grade for the course.

Finally, add a cover page and include the References (also known as Works Cited) page at the end. Submit all pages together as one file to the assignment dropbox.

Special Notes

The grading standards used to assess the quality of your work for this project will be detailed in a grading rubric, which will be provided during the semester.

It is strongly suggested that every student read ahead and use the library database during the first days of the course to begin researching a topic. This project requires carefully planning throughout the semester.

Refer to the course calendar for the specific due date. The final product is to be submitted as a single .doc or .docx file via the submission guidelines identified by the instructor.

Write a memo announcing employee layoffs.

You are the SVP of human resources for a financial software company that has 7,500 employees. The company has decided to sell AccountSoft, one of its major products. The software has suffered declining sales for the past two years, and it no longer fits with the new mission of the company, which is to sell to small businesses and individuals, rather than larger accounting firms (currently 95% of AccountSoft’s buyers).

You will have individual conversations with employees who are affected by the layoffs, but first you advise the CEO to send an email to all employees to announce the decision to sell AccountSoft and to prepare employees for the downsizing and what will happen next.

As you write this memo for the CEO to send under his name, consider that not all employees from the AccountSoft division will be laid off. The sales and marketing staff (about 150 people) will be leaving the firm, but the software developers will go to the acquiring firm, Accounting Support Services, Inc. This was your agreement with Accounting Support Services, as part of the acquisition deal.

Write the memo to communicate the decision clearly and help employees understand and accept the message.
