Week Five – Project Management – Exercise 3

 Hello

I need this assignment by Thursday, April 29th.

Write a 400-word paper of the interview with a response to the following questions:

Name: Jermaine Moore

Position: Project Manager of Volunteer Services

Company: Kaiser Permanente, Oakland, CA

·        What kind of closure procedures are used to complete a project?

Response: My current project is receiving patients’ values from family members. I set up a system with my Ambassadors to log each item received and what room they are going to. Then my Ambassador will take the items up to the room. This was administered to allow the nursing staff to stay and take care of patients instead of coming from the floor to accept items. We use Flow Charts as our closure procedure because it entails a check list. This allows me to outline everything from items being received and delivered. Then we audit each day, and then share feedback as a team. This feedback then tells me what changes need to be made. As well as something to show upper management on the process of the project.

·        Are lessons learned used?

Response: Most lessons learned leaves us asking the “why’s” and finding a solution. For example, we track how many Kaiser staff is badging in throughout the day. We found that in the morning its usually at 100%, but towards the middle of the day the number drops to 60%. Then the question is asked, why the fluctuation? As a team we begin to look at why staff is not badging in and what changes can be made.

Only have 2 sections in the paper body (1 for each question) and discuss what you found out from your interview on each topic question.

All papers are APA format to include the intro/closing paragraph.

Please read the attachment for more information regarding the assignment.

NURS 6051: Transforming Nursing and Healthcare Through Technology

When you wake in the morning, you may reach for your cell phone to reply to a few text or email messages that you missed overnight. On your drive to work, you may stop to refuel your car. Upon your arrival, you might swipe a key card at the door to gain entrance to the facility. And before finally reaching your workstation, you may stop by the cafeteria to purchase a coffee.

From the moment you wake, you are in fact a data-generation machine. Each use of your phone, every transaction you make using a debit or credit card, even your entrance to your place of work, creates data. It begs the question: How much data do you generate each day? Many studies have been conducted on this, and the numbers are staggering: Estimates suggest that nearly 1 million bytes of data are generated every second for every person on earth.

As the volume of data increases, information professionals have looked for ways to use big data—large, complex sets of data that require specialized approaches to use effectively. Big data has the potential for significant rewards—and significant risks—to healthcare. In this Discussion, you will consider these risks and rewards.

To Prepare:

  • Review the Resources and reflect on the web article Big Data Means Big Potential, Challenges for Nurse Execs.
  • Reflect on your own experience with complex health information access and management and consider potential challenges and risks you may have experienced or observed.

Discussion 5 MF

Cost of Capital

In the links below, you will explore how companies compute their cost of capital by computing a weighted average of the three major components of capital: debt, preferred stock, and common equity. The firm’s cost of capital is a key element in capital budgeting decisions and must be understood in order to justify capital projects.

Cost of Capital — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8JZhQofRTs

For this Discussion, imagine the following scenario:

You are the director of operations for your company, and your vice president wants to expand production by adding new and more expensive fabrication machines. You are directed to build a business case for implementing this program of capacity expansion. Assume the company’s weighted average cost of capital is 13%, the after-tax cost of debt is 7%, preferred stock is 10.5%, and common equity is 15%. As you work with your staff on the first cut of the business case, you surmise that this is a fairly risky project due to a recent slowing in product sales. As a matter of fact, when using the 13% weighted average cost of capital, you discover that the project is estimated to return about 10%, which is quite a bit less than the company’s weighted average cost of capital. An enterprising young analyst in your department, Harriet, suggests that the project is financed from retained earnings (50%) and bonds (50%). She reasons that using retained earnings does not cost the firm anything since it is cash you already have in the bank and the after-tax cost of debt is only 7%. That would lower your weighted average cost of capital to 3.5% and make your 10% projected return look great.

Based on the scenario above, post your reactions to the following questions and concerns:

What is your reaction to Harriet’s suggestion of using the cost of debt only? Is it a good idea or a bad idea? Why? Do you think capital projects should have their own unique cost of capital rates for budgeting purposes, as opposed to using the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) or the cost of equity capital as computed by CAPM? What about the relatively high risk inherent in this project? How can you factor into the analysis of the notion of risk so that all competing projects that have relatively lower or higher risks can be evaluated on a level playing field?

What is the impact happened on both sides (Like court costs, family side, etc.). Assure victim that you are enrolled in treatment program and that is making good impact on your life.

Points to consider for letter:

Demonstrate regret of actions, not just regret for the victim’s pain

Do not ask the victim to forgive you or place any other expectations on the victim

Think about what have you learned from this; how will you change the way you think and behave in the future

Keep in mind why it’s important to remain law-abiding

Remember the emphasis of the apology letter should be on the victims’ losses, not on the losses you have suffered by your actions

Is this the letter you would like to receive if you were the victim of this same offense

Treatment of Sleep/Wake Disorders

PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW

4 REFERENCE

ZERO PLAGIARISM

TOPIC:Non–Rapid Eye Movement Sleep Arousal Disorders

The power of sleep to heal the body cannot be underestimated. Most research indicates that 7–8 hours of sleep are a minimum that people need to stay healthy. Clients who come to the PMHNP’s office frequently complain of sleep problems. It is estimated that 10–20% of patients report some type of sleeping problem.

Learning Objectives

Students will:

  • Analyze diagnostic criteria for sleep/wake disorders
  • Analyze evidence-based psychotherapy and psychopharmacologic treatment for sleep/wake disorders
  • Analyze criteria for referring clients to primary care physicians for treatment of sleep/wake disorders
  • Compare differential diagnostic features of sleep/wake disorders

Note: For this Discussion, you are required to complete your initial post before you will be able to view and respond to your colleagues’ postings. Begin by clicking on the “Post to Discussion Question” link and then select “Create Thread” to complete your initial post. • They would like a secure solution for Remote Access to allow employees to access applications from either a personal device or when traveling with a work device.

For your final deliverables of this project you will submit complete documentation of your proof of concept environment and the plans detailed in the requirements document.  This documentation should be complete technical documentation with enough detail to allow the reader to reproduce your solution and understand why you made the configuration selections you did.   There are some articles and tips linked in the Course Resources section on how to write successful documentation.

For your presentation you will provide a business targeted video presentation of how you addressed their requirements.   This presentation should include some sort of visual aidshandouts and should not be overly technical in nature.   Your presentation should be between 5 to 10 minutes long and you need to make sure to include any background information or assumptions that you needed even if the items do not directly correlate to a requirement.
