Influence of Peers PowerPoint – due in 7 hours

DUE IN 7 HOURS

Influence of Peers

The influence of peers during childhood can have a long-lasting effect on a person throughout his or her life. In this assignment, keep in mind at least three different ways in which teachers and/or parents can intervene to help improve a child’s social skills and relationship with peers. It is the adult’s responsibility to enhance a relationship with peers, rather than be the relationship.
Use the information from your text to construct a PowerPoint presentation that provides your suggestions for parents/educators. In addition, give a short explanation of why these suggestions will encourage positive peer relationships. You must use at least two scholarly sources other than the textbook and required readings to support your suggestions.

The PowerPoint presentation must include:

  1. Title slide (one slide)
  2. A description of how and an explanation of why the influence of peers during childhood can have a long-lasting effect on a person throughout his or her life (two slides).
  3. At least six slides summarizing at least three different ways in which teachers and/or parents can intervene to help improve a child’s social skills and relationship with peers. Please note that the content of each slide should appear in the notes section, while the slide itself should contain the information that would be presented to the teachers and/or parents.
  4. Conclusion slide that clearly explains why the teachers and/or parents should review this material (one to two slides)
  5. Reference slide with at least three scholarly sources and the course text properly cited (one slide). The references should be formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center (Links to an external site.).

Serving the Public

Public administrators should find themselves in an environment that is mission-oriented. All efforts should be aimed at achieving organizational goals, which might mean marginalizing your own goals and values to some extent. This can be challenging. For this discussion, imagine you are a manager providing part of the new employee orientation. The part of the orientation tasked to you is to introduce those new to the public sector of the ethical expectations of public sector employees, the challenges they might face in doing so, and guidelines they might use for assessing the potential ethical consequences of the ethical challenges they face.

For this discussion, you will develop a PowerPoint presentation using one of two formats:

  1. Record a Kaltura presentation. This approach uses a PowerPoint presentation that advances itself, accompanied by an audio recording that guides viewers through the presentation. Include a transcript, a detailed outline, or presentation notes at the bottom of each slide of your audio recording, OR,
  2. Create a PowerPoint presentation with detailed presentation notes section completed. This approach uses a PowerPoint with detailed notes in the presentation notes area at the bottom of each slide. The presentation notes are a transcript of the presentation you would make if showing the presentation to an audience.

In presenting the information to the new employees, the PowerPoint must include the following:

  1. Title slide.
  2. Purpose slide.
  3. Content slide(s).
  4. Summary slide.
  5. References slide.

Based on the guidelines, the presentation must have a minimum of five slides. You will need at least one slide for content, but may use as many as you need.

Create a 12-15 slide digital presentation for future teachers explaining best methods and strategies for teaching writing, spelling, and grammar. Use PowerPoint, Prezi, Emaze, or another slideshow tool. Be sure to include a title slide, reference slide, and presenter’s notes.

Writing is seen as a neglected area in the school reform movement when compared to heavily tested subjects like mathematics and reading. Yet, writing is the conduit through which life changing professional and educational opportunities occur (Early & DeCosta, 2012).

The purpose of this assignment is to analyze instructional strategies for writing, spelling, and grammar.

In this assignment, you will research and describe ways to engage students in these strategies, while also making learning appropriately higher-order and meaningful.

Your task is to create a 12-15 slide digital presentation for future teachers explaining best methods and strategies for teaching writing, spelling, and grammar. Use PowerPoint, Prezi, Emaze, or another slideshow tool. Be sure to include a title slide, reference slide, and presenter’s notes.

The slideshow should include the following:

  • Description of the 6+1 Traits Writing Model and how it can be used to teach writing to elementary students and encourage critical thinking and meaning making
  • Description of the writing process model and how it can be used to teach writing to elementary students and encourage critical thinking and meaning making
  • Explanation of how to teach spelling in meaningful ways that encourages critical thinking and meaning making
  • Explanation of how to teach grammar and conventions in meaningful ways that encourage critical thinking and meaning making.

Support your presentation with 2-3 scholarly resources. Use language appropriate to your audience. Include images, graphics, and examples to enhance the slideshow’s visual interest.

While APA format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

ATTACH TURNITIN REPORT

prepare a 6- to 10-slide presentation with speaker notes for the next web meeting to address the following:

Now that the Crusin’ Fusion website is up-and-running, you and your team have decided to run a contest on the blog asking customers to name the latest fusion recipe. In order to participate, the customer will need to enter first and last name, phone number, and an email address, as well as the suggested fusion name. The winner of the contest will receive a $20 gift card.

Kiran supports this idea but has concerns she wants the team to consider before moving forward. She has asked that you prepare a 6- to 10-slide presentation with speaker notes for the next web meeting to address the following:

  • Research and assess the ethical issues related to data customer collection and information management. How will customer information be protected?
  • Research and examine the need to protect the intellectual property of the customers who submit name suggestions. What protection will Cruisin’ Fusion need in order to use the name suggested by the winner? What protection or disclaimer does the customer require?
  • Include a 1/2-page disclaimer to add to the blog for customers outlining the contest rules, explaining how their personal information will be used and stored, and discussing the use of all intellectual property submitted as part of the contest.

Submit, a 7-10 minute recorded PowerPoint presentation and transcript of presentation. In the PPT presentation, address the following prompts:

In the profession of social work, there is an expectation that all service providers and professionals provide culturally responsive interventions and considerations to diverse individuals, groups, and communities. At the same time, the topic of diversity has the potential to create discomfort. How do social workers continue to not only engage in difficult conversations, but to also acknowledge and confront the layers of discomfort?

Learning about local diversity and attending cultural events is one way to challenge one’s perspective and engage with diverse others. For this Assignment, participate in an immersive experience in your community. As a guest at this experience, remember to take a stance of cultural humility and respectfully participate. You then create a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation about this experience in which you analyze related concepts in the course. You are expected to demonstrate professional demeanor in behavior, dress, and setting for the presentation.

To Prepare: Attend an open event in your community related to a diverse social identity (gender identity/expression, race/ethnicity, class, religion, ability, sexual orientation, national origin, or age). Then, create a PPT presentation and record the presentation using the Personal Capture function of Kaltura Media (see Kaltura Media Uploader linked in the classroom for instructions on using this technology). Use the Presentation feature to record both your PPT and a video of yourself presenting.

By Day 7

Submit, a 7-10 minute recorded PowerPoint presentation and transcript of presentation. In the PPT presentation, address the following prompts:

  • Describe the cultural event in which you participated.
  • Explain how this experience influenced your perceptions of diversity and difference.
  • Analyze at least 3 key concepts from this course in relation to this experience.
  • Define what it means to you to engage with diversity and difference in practice.
  • Describe two challenges associated with discussing and reflecting on diversity related content.
  • Describe one strategy to address these challenges.
  • Identify one positive emotion and one negative emotion that surfaced during the past 10 weeks of the course.
  • Describe one strategy to address the negative emotion in order to continue developing cultural awareness.
  • Explain specific steps that you will take to advance human rights and social, economic, and environmental justice based on what you have learned in this course.

It is highly recommended that you write a script before recording your presentation. A good guide for translating the length of your written script into presentation time is about 135 words per minute. This rate may differ based on your speaking style and other variables, so consider it a general guideline.

To ensure accessibility of your presentation, you must submit a Transcript and/or use the Closed Captioning available in Kaltura Media. (If you select to use closed captioning, you must edit the closed captioning to confirm it was captioned correctly).
