3) You are expected to search for answers from google/stackoverflow/R-documentation/our R-reference book, etc. rather than just stick to the class R-code. This is the process of “learning to learn”.

Grading rubric includes the following:

Phase 1 – exam will be graded for 40 points.

Phase 2 –  Presentation on final exam day and submission of your report. 60%

1.  Report – problem solution – 40%

I will look for   Readability of the code – if code is not annotated you loose points.,Recreatability of the code i.e., we should be able to run your R code and get similar results are you have stated it in your report. Understandablity and matching the results in R-runs with what you have depicted in your report. Any graphs, dendrograms, plots if you have these please share them. Any predictions, simulations, etc. that you could do for the course. (Optional)f)  Appendix consisting of screenshots of  your computer and important runs that you conducted with your source code.

  2. R- Code – 20%

SOLUTION SUBMISSION

Please submit your team’s solution as an MS Word document (or pdf file). Attach the R source code separately.

I.  Dataset & Problem statement

In the dataset link   –googleplaystore.csv.zip download – you will see data pertaining to applications from the Google AppStore.

You are an Application analyst responsible for understanding different aspects of apps so as to help the marketing team to create a sales and promotions strategy for these apps. As an analyst – you are tasked with understanding and deciding how you would promote the apps, and what is your rationale for such a decision. Use your imagination combined with the tools you have learned in the Business Analytics course.

Given the toolkit of 12 different analytics techniques taught in the Business Analytics course of Dr. Subramanian’s do the following:

II. Problem Statements

1) As a first step your goal is to classify the apps. Obtain groups of apps based on similar feature sets (or input variables) using any machine learning algorithm you learnt in this course. How many groups will you ideally derive?  & justify your answer.

2) Understand the characteristics of the groups by presenting their feature descriptions through analyzing means, standard deviations, and distributions using bar-graphs , scatter plots, dendrograms, or other visuals. From each group of apps predict the sales

3) Based on your analysis – Present a plan with an actual dollar value (assumed) and a strategy for promoting your applications via online advertisements or TV ad placement?

Case study .Care Giver role Strain

Instructions: Read the following case study and answer the reflective questions. Please provide  rationales for your answers. Make sure to provide citations/references for your answers in APA  format.

CASE STUDY: Caregiver Role Strain: Ms. Sandra A.  Sandra, a 47-year-old divorced woman, received a diagnosis of stage 3 ovarian cancer 4 years  ago, for which she had a total hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo- oophorectomy, omentectomy,  lymphadenectomy, and tumor debulking followed by chemotherapy, consisting of cisplatin  (Platinol), paclitaxel (Taxol), and doxorubicin (Adriamycin). She did well for 2 years and then  moved back to her hometown near her family and underwent three more rounds of secondline chemotherapy. She accepted a less stressful job, bought a house, renewed old friendships,  and became more involved with her two sisters and their families. Sandra developed several complications, including metastasis to the lungs. Then she could no  longer work, drive, or care for herself. She had been told by her oncologist that there was  nothing else that could be done and that she should consider entering a hospice. She met her  attorney and prepared an advance directive and completed her will. She decided to have  hospice care at home and, with the help of her family, set up her first floor as a living and  sleeping area. She was cared for by family members around the clock for approximately 3 days. Sandra observed that she was tiring everyone out so much that they could not really enjoy each  other’s company. At this time, she contacted the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) to seek  assistance. Her plan was to try to enjoy her family and friend’s visits. After assessment, the VNA  nurse prioritized her problems to include fatigue and caregiver role strain. Other potential  problem areas that may need to be incorporated into the care plan include anticipatory grieving  and impaired comfort.

Reflective Questions

1. What are some of the stresses on Sandra’s middle-aged sisters and their families?

 2. What resources are available to manage these stresses and support the sisters while  caring for their dying sister Sandra?

3. Describe Sandra’s feelings about dependency and loss of autonomy because she is  unable to do her own activities of daily living any longe

-RESPOND TO MY PEER DISCUSSION POST W/C 150-220

Emani Johnson,

The impact from the increase of Minium wage will be incredibly SIGNIFICANT It will be great for employees but not so great for the employers and the business itself. It would be a promising idea for some workers because they may have had some prior experience at another job, but it is unfair for other to start off making over Minium wage if it is their first job.

If this did indeed happen, a lot of business would be hurt. They simply cannot just afford it. The prices of everything in the business would go up. That is not good for the business nor the employee because their hours would be cut short.

In conclusion, I do not think Minium wage should be increased. It is too many NEGATIVE aspects to this issue. Employes hours may be cut, business may fail, and prices would be sky high. If someone does not like their pay, they should switch to another job or try to get a raise. This even relates to college. No one would want to get in a career if they can make easy money doing fast food or serving. I have a lot of respect for the food industry because I am in it, but I know not all good things come from higher pay.

Reality, Art, and Truth

This 6-8 page essay assignment will be completed in three parts. You may want to use section headers to organize your paper. Remember to explain the theories you reference with supporting citations to the textbook and online lectures in correct APA format.

Part I. The Self

Discuss the avocado idea of the self and explain at least one version of the idea that human beings have a shared essential nature (such as Cartesian rationalism or Greek philosophy). Contrast this account with the artichoke idea of the self (drawing upon existentialism to develop your account) and a discussion of how the modern/avocado and postmodern/artichoke ideas of the self differ. You may use your analysis from the Week 2 assignments to develop your account in Part I.

Part II. The Avocado Self and Art as Representation

Explain the idea that art is mimesis (Plato and/or Aristotle) and how this is like the avocado idea of the self. Discuss a character/narrator/subject in a work of art (novel, poem, film, graphic novel, short story, television show, song, painting, etc.) who you think captures the avocado/art as mimesis idea that we have an essential, shared human nature and that art reflects this reality for us.

Part III. The Artichoke Self and Art as Transformation

Explain the idea that art is transformative/how artistic creation expresses the unity of subject and object (Nietzsche, Schelling, and/or Heidegger). Discuss how this reflects the artichoke idea of the self. Discuss a character/narrator/subject in a work of art (novel, poem, film, graphic novel, short story, television show, song, painting, etc.) who you think captures the artichoke/post-modern idea of the self and the idea that art creates truth.

Part IV. Art and Philosophy

Finally, reflect upon the relationship between art and philosophy by considering some of the following questions:

  1. Are the self and the material world distinct entities, as Descartes thinks? What are some examples of representative art that illustrate the idea that the subject/mind and the object/world/body are distinct? Alternatively, are the self and the world organic unities, as Schelling argues? How might artistic creation express this unity of subject and object?
  2. Is art mimesis/representation (as in Platonism and Aristotelian aesthetics) or is it a means of transforming the self and reality? Might it be aspirational, allowing us to achieve catharsis, as Aristotle suggests? Consider, too, how the idea of art as representation is akin to the avocado view while the idea of art as transformative is more like the artichoke view.
  3. What is the relationship between art and philosophy? Do you agree with Descartes that logic and critical thinking are the best means of achieving certainty about reality and existence, or is your view more akin to the perspective of Keats, Schelling, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, and/or Heidegger that art is the ultimate expression of truth? How are these views a rejection of the natural standpoint we see adopted by empiricism and rationalism and rejected by phenomenology?
  4. Do some kinds of art (music, for example) express the truth more fully than others? How so? How does the idea and purpose of art differ across cultures?

List the TOP 5 books that you have read and describe the specific appeal for each of them

Exampl1. Chronicles by Bob Dylan is probably the top book that I’ve read because Bob Dylan is one of my favorite human beings on the planet. It honestly amazes me on how a boy from Minnesota grew up to to be this influential tidal wave of musical genius.

2. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling because I think she’s hilarious. She writes about her experience being a woman of color trying to make it in comedy and I find myself laughing out loud whenever I read it.

3. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. It’s a coming of age novel that addresses issues that many young people face that I think are important to talk about. The writing style is different than any other novel I’ve read which lures the reader in.

4. Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris because it’s short essays on his life, and those who are apart of it, and they’re all funny. While reading his stories, I can’t help but think of someone in my own life who it reminds me of.

5. Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein would be my fifth book because it was one of the first books that I’ve read. It inspired me to be a teacher and although it’s just simple poems, they always brighten my day.
