(1)It’s a 10-15 minute presentation on topic in communicative systems of cat. Create slides for your presentation on the topic of your choice.

– illustrating the sounds made by the whales and explaining what communicative purpose each sound serves

– discussing how the methods of Beluga whales’ sound perception and production differ from the perception/production methods we discussed in class (e.g. use of nasal sacs as opposed to vocal cords for production, use of melons as opposed to the ear for perception)

– discussing the whales’ non-verbal mode of communication (compared to the verbal mode of communication that we chiefly focused on in class)

– comparing how young Beluga whales learn their language with human language acquisition
