Class Presentation Requirements

Technical Skills

1. Your topic can be about any new advances in computer technology in a given area that pertains

to your major, for example medicine, law enforcement, graphic design, etc.

2. 10 to 20 Slides, no more than 5 minutes

3. Must include a title slide with your name, course name and month and year

4. Must include a brief “Introduction” to the topic, a brief “History” or timeline of the major

advances in your topic and any “New Areas of Research” that will be available in the near future

and a “Questions” slide

5. Apply a theme or template

a. Apply a transition to each slide.

b. Demonstrate a professional use of animation (no bouncing, spinning or blinking).

c. For extra credit the following can be applied in a professional manner:

i. Video, music or sound effects.

ii. Format background using a picture

6. Graphics – must have pictures, clip art, etc.

a. Graphics must be formatted using skills learned in class.

b. Graphics must be crisp and clear

7. Smart Art – must be included on at least 5 slides

8. Graphs/Tables/Charts

a. One table must be included

b. One Chart or Graph must be included

9. First and Last name in the footer, date and slide number on the handouts (3 per page) printed

and turned in before you present.

Professional Skills

A Successful Professional Presentations will include the following:

1. Content

a. Your information is interesting and engaging

b. You are well informed on your topic

2. Organization

a. Ideas are organized in a logical manner

b. Focus, do not get off topic

3. Graphics/Media

a. Graphics/media improved the presentation and their placement was

creative

4. Layout and Design

a. Slide balance (6×6 Rule)

c. Speak loud and clearly
