CS666 : Project Due 5/4/20 at midnight. No extensions Value: 100 points (boost of one final letter grade)

Project Requirements: I am your client. Deliver a professional package (described below) to me by midnight on May 4th. Answer 2 business problems (one classification and one regression) and submit all supporting materials. I should be able to make a decision on my business problem based on your work. A decision of “Not enough information” or “we need more data” will not receive full marks. You should be writing to me as a general business client who is not an expert in your craft. For example, if you have a high or low r2, I won’t know what that means or why it is important. KNN is most likely someone’s initials. Supporting Materials must contain:

§ All python / R code § All supporting documentation § All datasets (links or linked to cloud storage)

Complete Business Problem statement description As accurately as possible describe the following:

§ What you are doing? § Why you are doing it? § How you are doing it? § What are the challenges / limitations? § What future steps need to be taken? § What should the client/business do with your results? § How confident are you in these results? Why? § What other factors are present or should be explored?

Final Write up Deliverable must be a professional submission. Acceptable formats include: .doc, .docx, .pdf, ppt, pptx. Remember the MECE framework (mutually exclusive / collectively exhaustive) I would recommend making a presentation centered around the business problem. Examples are on blackboard. 1) Regression Problem: Boston Housing Dataset I am a real estate agent and I have 3 clients selling their homes. I’m having trouble working with them and I need your data science skills. They don’t trust Zillow or any online service for setting prices. They’ve been burned by other real estate agents and the pricing formulas used. These homes are in the Boston Area and a trusted advisor told me that you may be able to use the boston housing dataset to help answer these questions:

Example: Help the Cowboys make the best decisions possible in the upcoming NFL draft. How should the draft the best player available targeting 6 positions: LB, DE, FS, FB, OLB, CB. Should they consider trading? Who should be targeted in free agency this year? What can wait for next years draft? The owner can be a handful. Write up a compelling presentation for how to proceed.
